There were some pretty strong storms through here early this morning
and a power pole less than a mile from here was twisted apart. All of the lines were still intact, which is why my power (mostly) stayed on between the storm and when they cut it so they could replace the pole.

Hopefully no one was hurt and there wasn't too much property loss.

In the immediate area, I know of no injuries. About 7 miles North of here, they have determined that an EF1 tornado moved through. It ripped off some roofing and knocked over a building that was under construction.

A short while later, another storm that has also been classified as an EF1 tornado went through a trailer park 15-20 miles NE of here. It picked up
one trailer, turned it upside down, and dropped it partially on top of
another one. Several other trailers will need to be condemned. From what
I understand, the people in the two trailers that got the worst of it
    escaped with only minor injuries.

The Storm Prediction Center has the Midsouth and Arklamiss under an
Enhanced Risk of severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening, with
the risk of some strong to violent tornadoes, and hurricane force wind
gusts. Central and East Arkansas are included in that, so I likely will
be offline much of Friday. I wouldn't be surprised if they upgraded that
    to a Moderate Risk.

I thought it was a little late in the year to get severe weather around here though I am aware that it can happen at any time in the US (same with tornadoes). Around here, the weather has been mild but cold. We do have
some rain coming in though later this week.

It looks stormy and unsettled here late this week. We can use the
rain to alleviate the moderate to high fire danger, but can do without
the tornadoes, large hail, and hurricane force winds.
