Not a bad idea. Where and when?? :)
It will be a while for me since I need a computer headset badly. I
have QTel (Linux Echolink client) installed; I just have to connect to Echolink's servers. After that, we can set up a server. Might be fun
to get the hams from my BBS Facebook group on also.

True. Sorry I don't have extra funds right now, or I'd send you the money for one. I use a headset mic myself, as it helps filter out
ambient noise.

Same here - sorry :(
And I don't use a headset for echolink, what little I've done...

At the price of some of the ham gear (and now most everything else),
you can see why. Money talks...mine just waves goodbye. Besides, if the ham radio catalog says CALL/WEB where the price should be, you can bet it's too expensive.

It's rare I'm on Echolink anymore. But, I had to turn the mic gain
down with the BlueDV program to -5 -- as my audio was too hot.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it. :-)
I haven't logged on in a while. It was cool at first, but just using my phone or laptop for it is still not 'radio,' unless I happen to catch someone on the other end that's actually using the repeater from an
actual radio. :-) Had that happen once. :-)

That reminds me of the meme with the guys wife asking him if he
bought another radio...and the responses are based on "Who Wants To Be
A Millionaire":
A) I won it at a club meeting
B) I got a good price at a hamfest
C) I exchanged one of my radios for it
D) You look wonderful today
As for "D"..."is that your final answer??" (hi hi).
One of the games I play is called X-Wing Miniatures game. There was a meme where 'death' was talking to a guy. "Your X-Wing order came in and your
wife was at home. Would you like to go now or do you need to pick anything up first?"

That applies to lots of gaming hobbies.
Imagine if it was a batch of cards for Magic. Some of that stuff gets crazy expensive.
I think a marriage in which you have to regularly conceal your
purchases from the other person is pretty much fucked up. I know
because I grew up in one.
