    Mark,

I have to get the 2nd shot this Tuesday, and then next month have to
get the flu shot. Fun times!

In the last 2 years, I've gotten shots for the flu, shingles, pneumonia, tentanus, diptheria, whooping cough, and COVID-19.

The bad thing is, my shoulder/upper arm is so sore for 24 hours where
they gave the shot, that I have great difficulty sleeping at night...even
    when taking pain pills.

Too bad they can't give shots in the hip/gleute, as I don't put as much pressure on that area when I sleep.

Here in Ontario some of us got mixed doses. My first was Moderna & other than a sore arm for about 3 or 4 I didn't really notice anything else. My 2nd dose was Pfizer, I didn't even get a sore arm.

I had the 2nd shot yesterday evening (work mandated). I really had no concern overall other than I despise mandates.

I had no reaction to the 1st and so far with the 2nd, nothing different. Feels like someone knuckle punched you in the spot where they give the injection, but otherwise all good. Not a big deal and it goes away in around 3 days. Good excuse to have an extra beer.

Mine was the opposite for whatever reason. I could feel the spot on my arm for around 3 days after the 1st shot. Had no other issues at all, though.

The 2nd shot, my arm doesn't hurt at all just 24 hours later but I did have a low grade fever and some slight ache/tired feeling exactly 24 hours after the 2nd one. That lasted into the following day as well to some extent. I just took some Advil Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Today (Friday), I feel fine so should be good to enjoy the weekend soon.

It is also good for people that have a tendancy for kidney stones (validated by my urologist years ago). It keeps the kidneys flowing, which is what you want to prevent kidney stones.

Works for me! I don't want another one of those damn things.. I have
had (2) in my life, and that is (2) too many.

One woman told me that she would rather have quintuplets, in hard
labor, with no epidural, than one kidney stone. That pretty much sums
    it up.

Yet, another woman told me that "If women can pass a baby, you men
can pass a kidney stone". I told her "But, unlike the female cervix,
    the male penis cannot dialate".

A friend of mine asked me if I had multiple stones, what I'd call
them. I replied "Sly And The Family Stone, of course". <G>

I didn't have my first one until I was 50. But, I've quit drinking
soda and caffeine (iced tea). Yet, that has brought back the migraine headaches due to caffeine withdrawl. I'm still drinking a half gallon
of liquid a day, but not just water. As the late W.C. Fields said "I
don't drink water. Fish [have sex] in it". <G>

I'll take it for taking medication, but otherwise, I just don't
care for plain water. The flavored water is carbonated, and the
carbonation might have had an effect on the kidney stone formation.
I try to avoid stuff with citric acid, including lemonade, as it
tends to give me canker sores with my dentures.

My problem now (along with all the others I have) is atrial
flutter/atrial fibrillation, which I was diagnosed with 2 months
ago. Like diabetes and high blood pressure, many who have the
condition, don't know they have it, until the damage is done.
I'm on medicine to control the heart rate, as well as a blood
thinner to prevent clots. I see the cardiologist a week from
Wednesday, and I'm seriously considering ablation surgery.

I've had them twice now too. I have one apparently deeply embedded in my left
    kidney.

Is it still there? My Dad had several of them over the years - but for some odd reason since he is much older now, has not had any in decades. Lots of other problems, but not that one.

The first time I had them I ended up in the hospital with twice-the-usual dosage of morphine.

Me too! I had no idea what the problem was at the time. I was still married to my 1st wife at the time and around 29 or 30 years old. It woke me up in the middle of the night. I thought I had an appendix rupture or something. By the time I got to the ER, the pain was totally gone. It wasn't until they did the tests and they explained to me the situtation that I knew what happened.

I will never forgot how they told me.

"We have good news and bad news, which would you like first?" I said the good news. The doctor said "You are not going to die". I said ok, that is good. What is the bad news? The bad news is you have a kidney stone, and it is still there.

It took over a month to get it to pass and at times I was ready to rip it out with my hands if I could. It went from no pain at all to extreme pain in a matter of seconds. Not fun!

This is why I drink water constantly. That is the best way to prevent them.

    Pretty much that.

I have a popular product in the store which is plant-based and is diuretic as nothing you've ever seen. It ensures people can't leave the toilet :-) It is designed to be taken with a LOT of water for maximum effect.

I used to sell it like hot cakes. Some doctor around was recommending it for stones.

Maybe I don't notice it as much due to my evening beer drinking.. :)

The only beer I used to drink was root beer...whether it was Dad's, Mugs, Hires, A&W, or something else. I think someone referred to it as "carbonated sassafras"...and I've heard Doctor Pepper referred to as "carbonated prune juice".

I had the 2nd shot yesterday evening (work mandated). I really had no concern overall other than I despise mandates.

I had both of mine back in April. I've wondered if 4 months later, it triggered the atrial flutter, or if it was all the stress I've been
having to deal with since my Mom died.

I had no reaction to the 1st and so far with the 2nd, nothing
different. Feels like someone knuckle punched you in the spot where
they give the injection, but otherwise all good. Not a big deal and it goes away in around 3 days. Good excuse to have an extra beer.

My left shoulder was sore for 12 hours after the second shot...I had
no problem after the first shot.
