• Summer is here

From digimaus@618:618/1 to All on Wed Jun 24 19:34:57 2026
    Hi everyone,

The honeymoon with spring is over here. Monday, it's going to be 90F (32C)
and Tuesday, with the heat index, it will feel like 107F (42C). I hate
summer, especially here where it's muggy all summer long, yeech.

Fall is my favorite season, by far.

I also do not care for this part of Summer. Once it gets so warm I
cannot sleep with the windows open at night, I am done with it.

I've said where I live many a time, but I live in Johnson City, Tennessee, in far northeast Tennessee, part of the Tri-Cities are (Johnson City; Kingdport, Tennessee; and Bristol, Tennessee/Bristol, Virginia).

    My Maidenhead locator is EM86ti.

I only open my windows in fall in the evenings as the pollen is not as bad.

My parents recently bought me a dehumidifier and that helps a lot in the
    summer in my small apartment.

There are heat records being set in most parts of the world but I
have to say I've been hoping for some warmer weather (but let's not
    get carried away)..

The last several weeks it's been about 22c (low 70's F) during the
day and as low as 12c (54F) at night here in Central Ontario.
This week will see highs and lows most days about 28c/20c (82/68F)
which may start to feel a little warm as we are not used to it yet.

It was close to that 28c today but there was a nice breeze off
of the water (Georgian Bay) so it wasn't too bad a day, but
they say we may get thunder storms 3 or 4 days this next week
so if they don't get you one way they get you another.. B)

Here in Kentucky, what they've been talking about is how we might set
some record highest lows overnight. That could be worse that record
daytime highs because it means nothing is cooling off over night.

I'd love to have the 70s/50s weather back. Heck, 82/60s sounds good,
too. Last night, I think it got down to 73F, and will be 93F or so
    by afternoon.

Our thunderstorms were mostly last week and over the weekend. During
the weekend, we had some major flooding in a couple of parts of the
state where storms "trained" over certain areas. There are areas
that are flood prone and we expect them to flood once or twice a
year, but these areas were not those.
