At the moment, as I type this, the Whippoorwills are
making a heck of a racket outside. They are quite loud and
generally do their calling starting at about midnight.

When the peepers emerge, I know that>blackflies and mosquitoes emerge a week to a few days later.
This year seems different though. The first night that the>Peepers started here was on Apr 23. But sofar, no blackflies
