Apparently there was some routing issues, I just saw this.

Being the Swede/Danish/German guy that I am, I did my best. Picked up a
3 pound corned beef, made it in a crock pot, 9-10 hours on low.
Concannon, roast vegetables and soda bread. I was hoping for leftover
corned beef for hash the next day, but people were picking at the
leftovers as they walked past the buffet table and complimented me on
    it...

I still have a couple of Guinnesses left.

Stop, I love concannon. And my mother makes the best soda bread going. No receipe, just knows it by sight.

I still have a couple of Guinnesses left.

I have to admit that I hate the stuff :) Prefer Ale

Regions were renumbered, MakeNL threw a fit and dropped nets 300, 510, and 520.

While the regions were fixed, I learned a few lessons and that won't happen again.

That does sound good. I had a can of corned beef. LOL

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, the east bay (510) BBS community morphed into pigdog - first a physical zine and later pigdog.org. They would arrange gettogethers known as TNIPNAB (Thursday night is Pigdog night at the Boondocks, a waterfront bar in San Francisco).

After several raucous gettogethers, they were disinvited from future events at the Boondocks, and moved to Zeitgeist, a bike messenger/biker bar in one of the few sunny enclaves in The City. The Abbreviation changed, the group got older. We all gained weight, got married, lost weight, and moved away. Someone would invoke the TNIPNAZ charter when people were in town, and it became incumbent to appear.

    The charter stated:

    1. The invitation must NOT be in the form of a question.
    2. Any invite must have an ASCII pig and/or dog in the message body.
    3. An offer to win a pig or dog is important. Must be present to win.
    4. Guinness must be served. On tap.

We had a gettogether during Covid on ZOOM and another one when Mr. Bad(tm) was in town recently.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them has a backup of one of their BBSes somewhere. I'd love to see some of the messages - we all thought we were Hunter S. Thompson back then and had a Gonzo streak a mile wide.

Guinness over vanilla bean ice cream. Dessert tonight. :)

Now that I can get behind. A mate and I are always into some mischief even though we are both pushing on the years. We go out to Bulgaria and have a week of madness :)

That sounds like the beginning of a great story. "You wouldn't believe
the shite we got ourselves into in Bulgaria!"

I had a friend who did an exchange semester in college in Prague. She
found *every* possibility to inject into a conversation with...

    "When I was in Prague..."

I want to go there just to be able to say that, now.

In 2015 I did a solo trip to Mongolia. On my return, we were invited to a party. We have this habit of picking on each other. The poarty was in a very rural area and this elderly woman asked the host if we were a gay married couple. Once we were told, we became even worse :) To this day, no one had told her that we are just mates :)
