We went to a buffet restaurant yesterday for US Thanksgiving. They
didn't have turkey out, but had a decent roast beast. Rest was your
typical buffet food. Glad FIL treated the entire family on that one. (I wouldn't want to know bill there was around 15 of us)

i guess these guys would be filler for when there were no regular
customers.
Probably, that and the restaurant most likly made money on them.
Even if they just had coffee and lunch if you go every day you'd
probably eat very little after a while.
masse in the mornings from open (around 0530-0600) to around 1000. They normally didn't buy or eat a lot individually but with them literally filling the dining room, they were always valued cutomers because without them, the restaurant would have a lossy breakfast shift and in order to keep labor costs down, we'd have to send some employees home which was always a Catch-22 because we'd risk being short-handed during a possibly busy lunch time.
