I also quit drinking for a couple reasons, Reason 1 we're now a one
income household, and reason 2 it's a lot of empty calories and I'd
rather use those for food. :) Now maybe I can enjoy the odd fried
thing, or desert.

Hello,

That's my update.
So I've been quite around here for a bit, I was promoted at work and
no longer drive people around, now I drive a desk for 8-12 hours a day dealing with Schedules, Payroll, and asking the drivers 120 times a
day "Did you knock on the door?".
Andrea's been off work as her job ended a couple months ago, so she's
been doing the cooking.

I have this image of those kid's dashboard toys with the steering
and the squeaky horn button.

drinking because i can knock back half a liter quit easily. I don't
drink every day, but still, i worry.
btw, did you try doing doordash in your area? i was able to make pretty good money, but it can be hit or miss.

Congrats on the promotion! More pay, more headaches. At least it's
not "Did you turn it off and turn it on again?"...

Not a bad thing I hope.
used to be. That's one of the reasons I've been so active in BBSing; I can think clearly again.
Looking at possible foot reconstruction surgery in the upcoming future.

Laugh. I'd totally hang one of those on the wall. ;)

No one here uses doordash. It's Skip the Dishes or Uber Eats. No I
haven't
done either, I may try uber eats on the weekends though.
It sometimes is. The drivers refuse to unplug the tablet's so they start to over heat and then don't charge. At that point. "Can you UNPLUG it
Miss the income.
Better then cutting it off for sure!

you should keep it at your desk and act like you're having a flashback
and driving again.

I have done ubereats. what i notice is the 'pay' for the runs are
lower, but people were nicer and tipped me well.
when i was hitting it hard was making about 350/wk and i was driving
about 3 hrs a day. but i had horrible days and awesome days. and it
was a LOT of driving and i had to gas up every 2 days.
I've certainly had some weird experiences delivering.

In some ways, it's identical, sigh...
Miss the income.
I understand; I miss making a living wage. Living off of crumbs from
the government sucks but it's better than no income at all.
Better then cutting it off for sure!
That still remains a possibility if the reconstruction doesn't take but
I am prepared for it if it happens. I'd rather not but at this point
in time, everything is om the table.

That makes sense.

I used to work for a local company that does the same thing as Uber Eats just been doing it since 1988 for the various restaurants. Believe me I've seen it all at this point.
