• Linux testers needed

    Hello All,

    So I got bored and wrote this tonight:

    ANSIview: ANSI screen viewer for Linux CP437
    Auto-detects terminal type using $TERM values
    w/UTF-8 output for modern terminal emulators.
    Raw CP437 bytes for TERM=linux consoles only!
    Designed for 80x25 BBS-style ANSI screens.
    Preserves ANSI color and cursor sequences.
    A simple tool to quickly view ANSI screens.
    Written in Free Pascal. Released under the
    MIT License. Written by Sean Dennis.

    I need people running Linux to test it. I will eventually set up a FreeBSD VM and compile it for FreeBSD.

    The program and its documentation are in beta stage. Both need work but I want to make sure the basics work.

    If you're interested, let me know and I'll crash you the tgz.

    Hi. If you can send me the program, I use arch on one machine and debian on another, in addition to bsd.

    Hi, I've been testing the program and it works quite well. My terminal uses UTF-8. I've been testing with "TERM=linux" and it works fine, but with "luit -encoding CP437" things change completely. ANSI looks great.

    TERM=linux ./ansiview synch.ans
    TERM=linux luit -encoding CP437 ./ansiview synch.ans

    I haven't had any problems or anything strange, so far it's working quite well.

    Until now, I've been using Durdraw, but I tended to run into library issues every few updates.

    As soon as you have a version of FreeBSD, let me know and we'll try it out.

    I have been finding issues here, however, I think I need to tinker with things with my terminal.

    Until now, I've been using Durdraw, but I tended to run into library issues every few updates.

    I've always used TheDraw under XDOSemu. Duhdraw keeps segfaulting on me, not sure why.

    As soon as you have a version of FreeBSD, let me know and we'll try it out.

    Give me a few weeks. I'm swapping out the motherboard on my main computer as a PCIe board shorted out and took the mobo with it. Once I get that machine running, I can set up a FreeBSD VM.

    I'll be waiting for that version, because I'm having the same problem as you; between library issues and crashes, drudraw isn't working well.

    Good luck with the motherboard repair.
