Just fprot as a virus scanner. I manually handle all uploads past that and
When I used to run Maximus/2, I used a custom-written FILES.BBS
creation program for FILES.BBS stuff. I used NEF for .TIC handling,
file hatching, and filefix. I didn't use a virus scanner (hard to
find an uopdated one for OS/2).

No, it's for DOS virii. MS Security scans for Windows virii automatically.

Last time I looked, the OS/2 version was several versions behind
what's available for Windows & Linux.

Gotta find me some skullcheck. I have Remote Access running in DOSbox =)
I wish the current owner of RemoteAccess (Bruce Morse) would opensource
it. RemoteAccess was very popular when i ran it in the 90s. And many Scene and Warez Boards used it. well, who knows if he is still alive!?
Last Version came out round about 25years ago. And Rapro.com
and other RA websites don't exist anymore.

I'm having a blast running it in DOSbox-staging. I went through so many DOSboxes to find one that changes the date at midnight and works with Zmodem. There's 100s of RA utils/txts/etc online to be played with. If you want to see what I've done so far try fEDaPOC:tEL:2301

Is dosbox-staging also taking care of the modem<>telnet interface?
Last time i tried, i used a DOS VM and a minimal WinXP VM.

Nope, doesn't work under NTVDM. At least the setup doesn't, it just blows away without doing anything.

Or Skullcheck does not run on NTVDM for other reasons. who knows.

to bad! :( many turbo pascal programs don't run on nowadays faster CPUs. There are several solutions around that apply a patch to those older turbo pascal software, but it doesn't work always.

that was one reason that made me give up running all original software.

Sounds like the program may expect a slower computer. You try using something like Mo'Slo or Tame with it?
I <think> it's an rte200, but because the setup program has "setup" in
the title, it automatically goes to open a new window and start the
UAC. It crashes before I get to see an error as the window closes promptly. The non-setup program gives an rte 200, but none of the
methods I usually use work, not even tp7p5fix.com, which almost always works, though I'd rather patch out-right than run a tsr.

I couldn't get any of the patches to help.

I just think the program is poorly written and can't be run on a modern computer without it being slowed down considerably.
It may be a RTE200 but you'll still have to slow it down to see that.
