Is it true that you can get a free, custom license plate with your HAM radio handle?
I heard that was the case.
Also - do you need to learn Morse Code to get a HAM license, or is that obsolete. Or was that ever a requirement.
    Sincerely,
    Kevin

In Canada I know you can get them, But they are not free.

I'm not exactly sure. Maybe someone can answer that question for you. I haven't had time to take the test to even get a handle yet. Maybe soon.

    Thanks

    Barkfin,

The issuance of Amateur Radio callsign plates and the associated costs vary from one location to the next. It would be helpful to know where you are from, in order to provide information relevant to your specific locale.

This same logic applies to the neccesity of Morse Code proficiency for being granted a license.

Speaking to the two cases I know specifically; The US does not require (or even offer tesing for) code proficiency.

Canada does not require code proficiency to obtain a certificate, but still offers testing for 5 WPM morse code.

That's a very basic overview;IfI can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Matthew

Any time you want to put the effort in...
