I've been having trouble configuring Outlook email (MS Outlook
2007) to use port 995 and SSL for pop3 incoming. It seems that
only port 110 and non-SSL works.
Sending, smtp + 465 + SSL is ok.
Thunderbird mail works fine with pop3/SSL/995 and smtp/SSL/465.
So.. why is Outlook not cooperating with pop3/SSL/995?

Best way is not to use outlook directly, but go
controll panell > Mail and then set the functions from there into the advanced (From memorey).
That will let you set the SSL and Ports.

I didn't realize that I could access the mail properties thru ControlPanel/Mail. Thx.
But using ControlPane/Mail shows exactly the same Settings
menus that Outlook does.
I've just now been able to get access to one. These steps
are still current even upto O365.
Click the "Advanced" Tab.
You now have access to the important bits...
Incomming Pop3 port: (995)
This server requires an encrpted connection. (SSL/TLS)
Outgoing server (SMTP) Port: 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection:
None, SSL/TLS, StartTLS, Auto
Still, pulling in mail (pop3) still doesn't work when I enable
SSL + 995. It only comes in when I untick the SSL, but leaving
port 995 is still ok.

Your provider might be using a different port. Have you
had a look on there website for that information?
It seams weird that they support an encrypted sending
connection, but not for receiving.
