No broken links, Vince. Just a quiet echo. Not many downlinks to
this echo anymore ... in fact, I don't even know who is keeping this
echo elisted.

No one it is not in the elist system - at the moment although after
adding the backbone content in it might be if I forget to remove the
dead areas before doing so.

I'll take it over if you want.

Notice there is not one for WIN10 or WIN11 but even the generic WINDOWS is dead - according to my msg base.

I still get items in this echo.. first time I've noticed the messages though. Cant say I pay particular attention. Even though I am very in
to old OS's.. Is this echo about win95 in general.. Or is it win95
based bbs's?

It's actually about all Windows versions.
it was about win95 and then morphed to a more general windows-based discussion area... it was one of the more active windows discussion areas for quite some time... the only real complaint that i recall was the name/echotag being too specific... other similar areas were started but none really took off... over time, discussion in here just fell off to pretty much nothing...

If I really had to choose a windows version it'd either be Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or Windows 98se.
I was running Windows for Workgroups 3.11, OS/2 Warp 3, and Windows NT 3.51 at a company around 1992-1994. We'd just gotten a 56k leased line to the internet and started exploring the internet. WfW 3.11 with Norton Desktop
and a handful of internet apps was pretty amazing. Our tech support group
set up their own shares and mailbox system on WfW, and we'd run Windows 3 long enough that we knew what worked (and didn't work)
