RECORD COLD IN THE STRATOSPHERE: The temperature of the polar stratosphere
just set a 40-year low for the month of December. As a result, strangely- colored clouds are spilling out of the Arctic, with sightings as far south as Italy, Germany and Switzerland. They look like auroras, but they're not!
