    0347 PM CDT Sun Aug 06 2023

Areas affected...portions of central Georgia into southwestern South
    Carolina

    Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 596...

    Valid 062047Z - 062215Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 596
    continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Severe Thunderstorm
Watch 596. Damaging gusts are the main threat, and are most likely
with storms interacting with the more unstable air.

DISCUSSION...Bands of multicellular storms continue across portions
of northern GA into SC, with a subset of these storms having a
history of producing damaging gusts. Damaging gusts cannot be ruled
out with storms in far western GA or AL that are moving into central
GA. However, a relatively greater damaging-gust threat exists with
the storms approaching central GA/SC since the ambient boundary
layer remains pristine from convection (i.e. surface temperatures
are still in the mid 90s F).
