The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 593
    continues.

SUMMARY...Strong/severe thunderstorms will spread east across
northern KS/extreme southern NE this evening.

    DISCUSSION...Notable short-wave trough is evident in water-vapor
imagery this evening over the central High Plains. This feature
appears partly responsible for upscale growth in convection over
northwest KS/southwest NE over the last few hours. Multiple
thunderstorm clusters are beginning to organize north of I70, and it
appears a sufficient cold pool may evolve such that a complex of
storms could spread across the remainder of ww593 into north-central
KS. Latest OA fields suggest a corridor of 2000+ J/kg MLCAPE extends
across northern KS which supports this scenario. A local extension
may be required immediately downstream to account for this threat.
