Areas affected...Northwest/central/southeast OH into the northern WV
Panhandle and southwest PA
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 432...
Valid 030010Z - 030145Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 432
continues.
SUMMARY...Some threat for isolated damaging gusts continues, but a
gradual weakening trend is expected later this evening.
DISCUSSION...A small bowing cluster is ongoing near Columbus, OH
this evening, with other strong storms noted over northwest and
southeast OH. A mid/upper-level shortwave trough moving across IN
will help to sustain convection for much of the evening, with storms potentially spreading into parts of west-central/southwest PA.
Moderate buoyancy and marginally sufficient deep-layer shear will
continue to support a threat of stronger storms with locally
damaging gusts in the short term. However, weakening MLCAPE and
increasing MLCINH with time are expected to result in a gradual
weakening trend later this evening as convection spreads eastward.
WW 432 is scheduled to expire at 01 UTC. With stronger convection
likely to be nearly out of the watch by this time, and only an
isolated threat expected downstream, new watch issuance is not
anticipated.
