Areas affected...portions of southeast Wyoming into northeast
Colorado and and the Nebraska Panhandle
Concerning...Tornado Watch 350...
Valid 212045Z - 212215Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 350 continues.
SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Tornado Watch 350.
Large hail (some 2+ inches in diameter), severe gusts, and a few
tornadoes remain possible through the afternoon.
DISCUSSION...Visible satellite show convective initiation taking
place along the immediate lee of the Rockies, with more mature
storms already in progress along a remnant outflow across the CO/NE
border area. These storms already have a history of producing up to
2 inch diameter hail, severe gusts, and a landspout tornado. Given
anomalous low-level moisture and associated ample instability,
storms should continue to increase in number and intensity through
the afternoon. While low-level shear is relatively weak overall
across the warm sector, locally stronger low-level shear may exist
along the remnant outflow, and along a differential heating zone
across extreme southeast Wyoming. Storms in these areas may have the
best chance at producing a tornado.
