Areas affected...Portions of central AL into west-central and
    southwestern GA

    Concerning...Tornado Watch 291...292...

    Valid 141804Z - 141930Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 291, 292 continues.

SUMMARY...The threat for tornadoes, some of which could be strong,
large to very large hail, and severe/damaging winds will continue to
increase this afternoon across parts of central Alabama into west-central/southwestern GA.

DISCUSSION...Multiple supercells are present over parts of far
southeastern AL into southwestern GA at 18Z. Some of these
supercells have exhibited low-level rotation, with multiple debris
signatures noted earlier. The environment across this area remains
quite favorable for supercells, with 50+ kt of deep-layer shear
estimated on recent VWPs from KEOX and other area radars. A
convectively reinforced front is also draped northwest to southeast
across this region, with supercells moving eastward across the
boundary into west-central/southwestern GA. Even with low-level flow
veered somewhat to west-southwesterly, backed near-surface winds in
the vicinity of the front are supporting around 100-200 m2/s2 of
effective SRH. Tornadoes will remain possible with any supercell
that is sustained, along with large to very large hail.

Across north-central AL, multiple clusters are spreading
east-southeastward along and just north of the surface front. This
convection may pose more of a severe/damaging wind threat in the
short term. Another supercell has also recently strengthened across
far east-central MS. Any supercells (like this one) that can persist
across central AL will also pose a threat for very large hail (2-3+
    inches in diameter) and tornadoes.
