We woke this morning to "fog", not really fog but the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. It only looks like fog downstate here.
So where's the gnashing of teeth from the Tree Huggers?
Where are the people demanding Canada pay $ billions in Carbon Credits
for all this pollution?

What you just said is another clue to the mystery I'm trying to solve.
The local media here say "Parts of upstate NY and the surrounding areas are experiencing smoke from northwestern Ontario." Michigan isn't part
of the surrounding area! So they're trying to make it sound like it's smaller than it really is, and "it's no big deal" and it's just
"climate change."
Good point! We're either: A) being intentionally poisoned, B) being
misled so they can push climate policies, C) being poisoned so they can push poisoning policies, or D) all of the above. But their
opportunities with this are endless. I just hope this isn't "bat from a wet market" part 2.
Another observation: There's like 20 shipping containers in the Walmart parking lot. What happened last time there was something big and
unusual going on in the Walmart parking lots? (This could be another clue.)
Based on the maps I've seen, this is pretty big. And lots of people are saying the same thing: "We've lived in this area for XX years, but now
our summers have been ruined by Canadian wildfires for the last 3 years."
They've willfully ignored decades of knowledge on forest management to appease the tree-huggers.
Interesting... Walmart (and the like) usually use those as temporary warehousing for stuff they can't fit in the back room. So if they were going to have a big sale on grills, for example, they might have a container or 2 of them so that they have the stock to sell.

That's the same thing here. It was a new thing when Biden and Trudeau
were "in charge" and of course it's continuing now.

That would explain it somewhat, but I've never seen them do this before (not with this many shipping containers.)
We knew through our own mistakes how to do proper forest management. So did Canada.
But Canada willfully put incompetents in charge of the forest
management, who stopped the controlled burns, making the large wildfires inevitable.

That sounds true, and that's what Trump says, and Trump is no liar, but I'm still skeptical about the way the smoke smells and about the "explanation" for the way it smells.
I like what Trump said about making Canada pay for the damage it's
doing to the USA through tariffs, and I expect that to be implemented soon. They can't get away with this.
I'm still skeptical about the way the smoke smells and about the "explanation" for the way it smells.
But we can apply some critical thinking skills here and get a good idea.
1. We know that trees and other brush is burning - So wood smoke.
2. Probably other plants are also burning (i.e. wacky weed).
3. If houses are caught in the wildfire, we can add plastics and other things you shouldn't breathe the smoke of when they burn.
4. There was probably treated lumber in the mix - so arsenic.
5. Moving over the lakes, whatever was in the smoke also got hydrated - which may change some of the chemicals in the smoke.
