I'm concerned that there's even more to it than that. Controlling what we can or can't do is just a quick thrill that they'll get before they pull the plug on us, so that they can have "cleaner air and cleaner water" for themselves.

But they are relying on us to be ignorant and trained, and at least 1/2 of us won't be.

I'm sure there are some thinking along those lines. They seem to have this strange belief that the pie is only so large and that if you get a bigger slice, it's because I got less. And, of course, if you aren't there, then I get an even bigger slice.

They tend to think of non-Elitists as nothing more than robots (hence their really stupid policies that disincentivize productive things).
