• 1st Republican Pres Debate

From Aaron Thomas@1:123/525 to All on Wed Aug 23 23:28:53 2023
Tonight was the 1st GOP presidential primary debate.

Mike Pence & Chris Christie are proven RINOs, and what they said during the debate can be dismissed as RINO propaganda.

Tim Scott wants everyone to know that "he don't play the race card," but playing the race card happens to be exactly what he does. He also seems to be a fan of skin colored statistics.

Asa Hutchinson wants to solve the gun violence problem with "education."

Vivek Ramaswamy wants to distance himself from all the other candidates, but he's not much better. I give him credit for saying that "Trump was the best president of the century," but technically we're not very far into the 21st century.

    Nikki Hailey didn't wow anyone..

Doug Berzum (North Dakota governor) seemed warm and straightforward. I like him and his answers, but he ain't gonna make it because he's not Trump.

Ron DeSantis had the best answers to everything, but his reputation is tarnished by "migrant flights to upstate NY."

These candidates can all get lost! I don't need any of them for president,
They can't repair Biden's damages. Trump might be able to, but I hope he doesn't think that any of these losers are VP material.

Tonight was the 1st GOP presidential primary debate.

I tried to watch also, Fox News promised everyone that they should be able to watch the debate, they said that there would be no need to select a provider, that all you had to do was get the Fox News app. That did not go well. Very Frustrating. All I had was apparently the preview for however long it was and then once that was used up. The screen indicated that my "free preview" had expired. I am getting You Tube TV this weekend and my only interest in watching is because of football.

What I did see was like a clown show, w/ Bret asking nearly everyone are you bought and paid for, which turned me off, it is just as well it did end prematurely.

I am no longer and haven't been a fan of Fox News for quite sometime.
Although I do like Hannity and Laura. If not for these two I would have zero interest in Fox News.

    Hello Aaron,

Tonight was the 1st GOP presidential primary debate.

"Would you support a convicted felon as the Republican nominee
for president?" That is the question that should have been asked.

There were eight contestants on the stage. Or rather, pretenders.

Mike Pence & Chris Christie are proven RINOs, and what they said during the
debate can be dismissed as RINO propaganda.

Mike Pence gleefully raised his hand when asked if he would
support Donald Trump as nominee of the Republican Party.

Chris Christie started to do the same, but thought better of it
as he stopped to answer another question.

All the other pretenders gladly raised their hand in support of
Donald Trump - except for Ara Hutchinson who actually does have a
lick of sense (just like Bill Clinton).

Tim Scott wants everyone to know that "he don't play the race card," but playing the race card happens to be exactly what he does. He also seems to abe fan of skin colored statistics.

Tim Scott loves Donald Trump, and raised his hand high to show his
    unqualified support.

Asa Hutchinson wants to solve the gun violence problem with "education."

And he gave all his Republicans on stage a real education, being
the only candidate who refused to raise his hand even one inch.

Vivek Ramaswamy wants to distance himself from all the other candidates, but
he's not much better. I give him credit for saying that "Trump was the best
president of the century," but technically we're not very far into the 21st
    century.

Ramsaswamy raised his hand as high as the ceiling, showing himself
to be the fake he has always been.

    Nikki Hailey didn't wow anyone..

Not only did she raise her hand, but she had said she would pardon
    Trump before taking the stage.

Doug Berzum (North Dakota governor) seemed warm and straightforward. I like
him and his answers, but he ain't gonna make it because he's not Trump.

And how happy he was to show his own support for Trump. It was the
highlight of his itty bitty life.

Ron DeSantis had the best answers to everything, but his reputation is tarnished by "migrant flights to upstate NY."

Not even Mickey Mouse could have raised his own hand that high in
    support of Donald Trump.

These candidates can all get lost! I don't need any of them for president,

None of them are running for president, except for Asa Hutchinson.
And maybe Chris Christie (who raised his hand halfway so it didn't
    count).

    They can't repair Biden's damages.

Six of the eight candidates raising their hands showing their
own support of a soon-to-be convicted felon as their party's nominee
for president. It would be seven, but Chris Christie claims he did
not fully raise his hand, so nobody could count him as truly in.

What a sad commentary on the current state of the Republican Party.

Asa Hutchinson, the only qualified candidate for president.

Everybody else (with the possible exception of Chris Christie)
vying to be leader of the MAGA states.

Trump might be able to, but I hope he doesn't think that any of these losers
    are VP material.

    There's always Sarah Palin ...

Yeah as of right at the moment I have no cable tv, spectrum is just to dang expensive for what it is. I am not anti-religious but 6 church type channels not to mention 6 or more QVC type channels of which is just to dam many.

Yeah Bret was being a smarta$$, asking everyone if they were bought and paid for right after Vivek made that statement, about not being bought and paid for.
You are also right they don't like him, I agree with you that they have their favorites, this is and has never been about who the media likes, it's the choice of the American Citizens to select a President. These Corporations
better learn their place and stay in their own lane. The mighty will fall.

Trump better lock of the nominee when the time comes, but if by some chance he does not I am still going to vote for whomever the Republican Nominee is.

I will tell you something else, this BS story that the media is suggesting that Trump and Biden are neck and neck is a complete lie and I will tell you why in my opinion as to the reasoning for such a claim.

First there is no way that they are neck and neck.
Biden's presidency has been a un-litigated disaster from gaffes to mumbling to wearing a smirk and cracking jokes at moments where it is not at all appropriate, such as on the island of maui.

Anyhow the media is floating the narrative that Trump and Biden are neck and neck because they are hoping that this will discourage Trump Supporters and that might stay home and not vote, thus allowing Biden to take the lead. I do not believe that Biden is anywhere Trumps popularity and no where next to Trump in the polls. It is a lie that will be forced to the surface just as the rest of the dirt has been uncovered on the Biden Crime Family more to come on this as well. Even when more information comes to the surface there will be those on the left that will make the claim that what just happened never happened as they have been and will continue to be denial.
Whatever, at least Biden will be gone and the plans for draining of the swamp will be completed.

Yea it seems like it's impossible for them to be neck and neck still, after all of Biden's failures and shortcomings, but I haven't noticed anyone changing their political opinion over the past 3 years. As long as the EBT cards are getting reloaded each month, the real domestic terrorists are "happy" with Biden.

    unprecedented lies,

Are you really serious here. Trump was the liar in chief throughout his
    term of office.

    unprecedented covid deaths,

Biden inherited a covid pandemic in full swing. From some numbers in a
WIKI post, as of Feb 2021 there had been 470,000 deaths. In Jan 2022
the total reached 842,000. In Jan 2023 the number was 1,120,000. I.e.
since covid hit the USA in early 2020, there were 470,000 deaths mostly
during Trumps time in office. The number for 2021 was 372,000 and for
2022 it was 278,000. Looks to me like Trump had more covid deaths per
year than Biden. Under Biden the number was decreasing. How much that decrease was due to policies of Biden versus just natural progression
due to getting people vaccinated, I do not know.

    unprecedented injustice for American citizens.

How so? What injustice are you referring to?

But other than that, he's been pretty good.

Yes -- he's done much on climate control, getting unemployment down,
getting good jobs for Americans, and on repairing America's

Jets Won on Saturday night, against the not so mighty New York Giants.

I also do not know if you have or get MAX (HBO & MAX) Jets Hardkocks has a new episode every Thursday Night. If you do tune in for Jets Hard Knocks or watch a re-play of the Jets / Giants game, either way you will find the Rodgers is hardly -not washed up.
You better hope that Carr gets the love on the Saints.
Because he didn't get it on the Raiders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEqsj4H10RI

The Jets do not play the saints in the Regular season.

    unprecedented injustice for American citizens.

How so? What injustice are you referring to?

It's an unprecedented injustice for American citizens to have to deal with the more than 10 million illegal immigrants that Joe invited in. Democrats are tired of losing elections, so they're combating their bad luck with enlargement of smaller cities. It's a proven fact that larger cities vote Democrat. Whether or not these new soon-to-be voters hacked people to death with machetes 5 days ago, that's not their concern; that's only concerning to the pee-ons who live in ungated communities.

    Hello Greg,

There is no way that I missing this year of the New York Jets.

Saints and Jets in the Super Bowl!
    Rejuvenated Carr vs washed-up Rodgers!
    A game for the ages!

Rodgers didn't look washed up on Saturday with pre-season football against the Giants.

There is a reason why Aaron Rodgers did not wear his old #12.
The Jets coach, and all the Jets players, realized Rodgers was
    no Joe Namath.

He was on the field for only 2 sets that resulted in a touchdown.

It only took Derek Carr one set, that resulted in a touchdown, to
convince the Saints coach and all the Saints players why Carr is the quarterback who is taking them to the Promised Land.

Jets Won on Saturday night, against the not so mighty New York Giants.

Well, it is true the Giants no longer have a Giant quarterback who
won them two Super Bowls ...

I also do not know if you have or get MAX (HBO & MAX) Jets Hardkocks has a new episode every Thursday Night. If you do tune in for Jets Hard Knocks or
watch a re-play of the Jets / Giants game, either way you will find the Rodgers is hardly -not washed up.

Oh, I fully expect the Jets to be a competitive football team.
But Rodgers is no Namath. Nor is he a Brees. And the Giants no
longer have a Manning to show them the way ...

You better hope that Carr gets the love on the Saints.
Because he didn't get it on the Raiders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEqsj4H10RI

Remember, Carr is Number Four. Just as he was in Veronica Roth's
novel, "Four". A divergent. And you know what that means ...

    ONE CHOICE
    Breaks free of his past

    ONE CHOICE
    Embraces his future

    ONE CHOICE
    Exposes the dangers

    ONE CHOICE
    Will free him

The Jets do not play the saints in the Regular season.

ONE CHOICE. Not 17. Just one. The Game. SUPER BOWL.

It's way to early to say who will be in the Super-bowl,
unless your a Broncos Fan; who like to state 16-0 (at the start)
    yeah they do that.

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints? Who dat?

Sean Peyton, enjoy your mountain oysters.
We got crawfish, Sir Saint, and Gumbo.

    For Life,

The inflation rate is measured by how much higher prices continue to go.
So while they are going up, so is the inflation rate. If they stabalize, economists and politicians can tell you that "there is no more inflation"
or, if prices go down slightly, they can tell you "inflation is going down!"

However, you as the consumer look at what you are paying for everything and realize you are still paying 50-100% more than you were for things in 2019.

So the "smart" folks can say "inflation is going down," while you are still paying much higher prices than only 4 years ago.

I am not really a Biden supporter but an honest look at what he has done does not show anything negative.

As the Subject indicates "You're not paying attention" and I'll prove it.

    1. His withdrawal from Afghanistan was the most shameful foreign policy calamity in my lifetime. Biden left hundreds of US citizens and as many as 62,000 of our Afghan allies behind enemy lines, and forced NATO allies to abandon their citizens and allies as well. He put the safety of US service members at the Kabul airport in the hands of the Taliban and Haqqani network, a decision that led to the deaths of 13 Americans in a suicide attack. His over the horizon drone strike killed no terrorists but took the lives of 10 innocent people. And he repeatedly lied about the unfolding disaster declaring that al-Qaeda was gone from Afghanistan; that no Americans were having trouble getting to the airport; that no allies were questioning the United States credibility; that none of his military advisers had recommended leaving a residual force; and that his Afghan debacle was an extraordinary success.

    2. He failed to deliver on his promise to put his "whole soul" into uniting the country. Biden threatened to veto his own bipartisan infrastructure bill, then went to Capitol Hill and urged members of his own party to take it hostage as leverage to pass Build Back Better. He failed to pass any other major pieces of bipartisan legislation, allowing himself to be captured by his party's radical left wing.

    3. His $1.9 trillion in social spending disguised as £covid-19 relief
helped unleash inflation and extreme labor shortages. This was the worst fiscal policy mistake in decades, passed with Democratic votes alone. And despite all that covid spending, shortages of test kits and treatments persisted as the omicron variant arrived.

    4. He unleashed the worst border crisis in US history. US Customs and Border Protection reported more than 1.7 million encounters with illegal migrants at the southern border, nearly four times the number the year before, the highest annual total on record including 378,000 who were not from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador or Guatemala. Seizures of deadly fentanyl more than doubled in 2021, and the drug is closely connected to a surge in overdose deaths, which reached a historic high.

    5. He showed weakness in the face of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
It's no coincidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin is threatening Ukraine just months after Biden's disastrous retreat from Afghanistan and
his capitulation on Nord Stream 2. Then, channeling his inner Neville Chamberlain, Biden offered to hold talks to discuss Russia's concerns on
NATO and the possibility of accommodations. Pushing Ukraine to
accommodate Moscow under threat of invasion would reward Putin's
aggression and invite more of it.

    6. He greenlighted Russia's Nord Stream 2 pipeline to Germany. Then Biden inappropriately pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Russian energy dominance over his country. Democrats impeached President
    Donald Trump for far less.

    7. His war on fossil fuels helped drive domestic production down and gasoline prices through the roof. Then he begged the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) a foreign oil cartel to produce more oil,
which will result in the same emissions as domestically produced oil.
It's like the 1970s all over again.

    8. In the midst of a historic labor shortage, he pushed vaccine mandates. Forcing employers with more than 100 employees to fire unvaccinated workers even if they have natural immunity from previous infection or impose
onerous weekly testing requirements would drive more Americans out of the
labor force, at a time when businesses can't find workers and there are
more than 11 million unfilled jobs.

    9. He weaponized the FBI to intimidate parents who show up at school board meetings. Parents are furious about pandemic closures and schools indoctrinating their kids with extremist ideologies. Biden treated them like domestic terrorists.

    10. He canceled Operation Legend amid a record crime wave in US cities. At least 12 major cities broke annual homicide records in 2021. Yet Biden ended the Trump Justice Department's Operation Legend, which deployed federal officers to aid local law enforcement and helped arrest more than 6,000 criminals. Now, with Chicago suffering the most violent year in a quarter-century, its mayor is requesting federal help to fight violent crime help that Biden withdrew when he took office.

Little wonder that Biden suffered the fastest collapse in public approval of any president in modern history. When he took office, he had almost 56 percent approval and was 20 points above water. In the year of 2021 he was more than 10 points underwater. That's a 30-point swing in less than a year. No recent president has fallen from grace so far, so fast, so early in his presidency.

Biden is the worst president in my lifetime.

    That's rather old, isn't it.

when it comes to the term "not paying attention." :)

    1. His withdrawal from Afghanistan was the most shameful foreign policy calamity in my lifetime. Biden left hundreds of US citizens and as many as 62,000 of our Afghan allies behind enemy lines, and forced NATO allies to abandon their citizens and allies as well. Those service members were killed in a suicide attack (as you mention), not by
    iden.

America wanted out of afghanistan for a long time and Biden got it done.

He got it done poorly, all the while ignoring the advice of several
advisors and diplomats who warned him that the current plan would lead to violence and the colapse of the Afghan government. Now, you can try to worm out of that somehow, but the discussion here, pre-withdrawl, was that one of Biden's good qualities was that he would surround himself with good advisors and he would, unlike Trump, *listen* to them.

He sure didn't then, and I half-suspect it was so he could have something
    to blame on Trump.

    7. His war on fossil fuels helped drive domestic production down and gasolin
    prices through the roof.

    His war on fossil fuels?

    Surely, you jest?

Something is driving the cost of gasoline, as well as power, up. Inflation
is supposedly down but those commodities continue to rise. Most would
question whether or not that is due to the energy policy of the current administration. What is your "theory"?

    9. He weaponized the FBI to intimidate parents who show up at school board meetings. Parents are furious about pandemic closures and schools indoctrinating their kids with extremist ideologies. Biden treated them like
    domestic terrorists.

Schools don't indoctrinate kids with "extremist ideologies".

That could be true, but parents speaking up about their children's
educations in public schools are being treated like criminals. There are several examples of parents reading books found in their child's school libraries aloud at school board meetings only to be silenced or removed completely by security because the passages are too "obscene" or
"pornographic" to be read at the board meeting... but it is OK if their less-than-teenage kid checks it out of the library and reads it to themselves.

What does the Democratic Party believe in? The Democratic Party is generally
associated with more progressive policies. It supports social and economic equality, favouring greater government intervention in the economy but opposing government involvement in the private noneconomic affairs of citizens.

    Yeah, that's all good.

Harry Truman had a sign on his desk which read "The Buck Stops Here".
    Biden took those words seriously.

I am not worming out of anything. Trump surrounded himself with men like Bannon who he pardoned before he left office.

was convicted of having conspired with Russia in an effort to game
    the US election.

He sure didn't then, and I half-suspect it was so he could have something
    to blame on Trump.

Trump simply didn't have the courage to get it done.

Trump had made a deal with the Taliban, forcing US troops to keep
their arms at bay while leaving areas controlled by the group that
protected Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda.

The fact of the matter is US troops should have been withdrawn
much sooner than they were. The events of 9/11 were horrible, and
the entire world saw what happened, condemning the terrorists who
did that. But how long did it really take for US troops to flush
out terrorists (al-Qaeda) from Afghanistan? Certainly less than
a month. And yet, how long did we stay? Twenty fucking years.
That's right. Twenty fucking years too long. And how many lives
were lost because of what we did? Far too many to count.

    Hello Mike,

    [..]

America wanted out of afghanistan for a long time and Biden got it done.

    He got it done poorly,

Much better and more orderly than previous times, such as in Vietnam.

all the while ignoring the advice of several advisors and diplomats who warned him that the current plan would lead to violence and the colapse of the Afghan government.

Trump's plan was a disaster from the get-go. Biden decided it best
to end the whole charade in Afghanistan by finally getting us out.

Now, you can try to worm out of that somehow, but the discussion here, pre-withdrawl, was that one of Biden's good qualities was that he would surround himself with good advisors and he would, unlike Trump, *listen* to
    them.

Biden got us out. Trump didn't.

He sure didn't then, and I half-suspect it was so he could have something to
    blame on Trump.

Trump had his chance to get us out of Afghanistan.
So did Obama. And Bush43. So why didn't any of them
have the balls to do it?

We all know what Biden did. Early in the first year of his
administration. He showed the entire world who had balls and
    who did not.

    7. His war on fossil fuels helped drive domestic production down and
    gasolin
    prices through the roof.

    His war on fossil fuels?

    Surely, you jest?

Something is driving the cost of gasoline, as well as power, up. Inflation
is supposedly down but those commodities continue to rise. Most would question whether or not that is due to the energy policy of the current administration. What is your "theory"?

    Progress.

    9. He weaponized the FBI to intimidate parents who show up at school
    board
meetings. Parents are furious about pandemic closures and schools
indoctrinating their kids with extremist ideologies. Biden treated
    them like
    domestic terrorists.

Schools don't indoctrinate kids with "extremist ideologies".

That could be true, but parents speaking up about their children's educations in public schools are being treated like criminals. There are several examples of parents reading books found in their child's school libraries aloud at school board meetings only to be silenced or removed completely by security because the passages are too "obscene" or "pornographic" to be read at the board meeting... but it is OK if their less-than-teenage kid checks it out of the library and reads it to themselves.

What silly talk. No public library is going to display girlie
magazines on their shelves, or have porn films available to borrow.
Library boards review complaints made by the public and remove items
that are found objctionable. That is the way things have been since
the beginning of time. The public decides, not some dictator wannabe,
what is available at their libraries.

What does the Democratic Party believe in? The Democratic Party is
    generally
associated with more progressive policies. It supports social and

but a true conservative would not.

Government provides. Business denies. That makes your definition
    of "conservative" as a fascist.

And Gregory got it wrong. Democrats don't support social and economic equality (i.e. everyone "created equal" and being presented the same opportunities), but instead equity (forcing outcomes to be the same by holding those who put in more effort back).

Cesspool capitalism is what Karl Marx and Frederick Engels railed
against, as that is what existed in their day. And that seems to be
what you and MAGA nutjobs want to return to.

Fortunately for most folks, that is not what is wanted or desired,
as that would be the end of all. And Oliver would have to return to
the streets and beg for food.

Part of the problem is that the term "conservative" and "liberal" and such are not very well defined.

On top of that, the Elitists like to redefine terms. They've been working hard since the end of WWII to change the meaning of "fascist" - and pretty much have succeeded.

And Gregory got it wrong. Democrats don't support social and economic equality (i.e. everyone "created equal" and being presented the same opportunities), but instead equity (forcing outcomes to be the same by holding those who put in more effort back).

It's worse than that. It's right out of Atlas Shrugged:

"from each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

Those of us who are competent are expected to keep working to the best of our ability, but we don't get the fruits of our labor. Instead, those who are incompetent will get rewarded.

Hence why the lazy, useless and incompetent like "equity".

    Same with Critical Race Theory
    http://tinyurl.com/5n79dfmd
Educators following these curricula are said to be teaching students
that racial disparities in socioeconomic outcomes are
fundamentally the result of racism, and that white people
are the privileged beneficiaries of a social system that
oppresses blacks and other "people of color."

Such is not the only factor -- just an important one.

    On gender,
they are being taught that gender identity is a choice,
    regardless of biological sex.

For some gender is not a choice, regardless of biological sex at birth.

It's our fault that white families provide for our
children and largely have a Mom and DAD within the household, who
teaches our children right from wrong?

I think that you are trying to equate what you do as a single white
family with what is done by society as a whole. It is good that you do
what you say, but society has done things over the centuries that do
oppress certain classes of people, not all of whom were people of color.

It's our fault that we choose
not to live in conditions of squaller and filth?

No, but it is the fault of society that some people in the past have had
    no other choice.

It's about time that these "People of Color" join us and
become civilized, instead of being a menace of society.

It's about time that Society as a whole lets that happen.

He ignored the ones who knew what they were talking about, sort of like Trump did.

No president can take everyone's advice.

Yes, but on the largest stage he had, he did exactly what he said he would not... ignore good advice from advisors.

This is not a democrat failure. It was actions of the GOP and that gerrymander
    supreme court.

And complete inaction of the Democrats, multiple times.

As I recall the last couple of judges elevated to the supreme court said that e v. Wade was precident and settled law. I wonder what they meant by that.

No court ruling is law. They only interpret the laws. Presented with
another case that questions a previous interpretation can lead to the court deciding the previous interpretation is correct, or deciding that the
previous decision was not correct, per "actual" law or per the Constitution.

If you want something to be law, you have to craft a bill that is Constitutional and then get it passed by Congress. Democrat majority congresses with sitting Democrat Presidents did not think it was imporant enough to do anything about.

Because Congress never passed it into Constitutionally-sound law (or ANY law), per the Constitution the right to decide was passed back to the states. I am not sure how the Democratic Congresses + Presidents not doing their jobs has anything to do with the Supreme Court.

If Roe v Wade is precident and settled law, there is no need to pass more laws

Court rulings only interpret laws and the Constitution. Congress passes
bills, and the President signs them into law. That is the way that
something becomes law, and it stays law until another law cancels it, until
a high court strikes it down as unconstitutional or, in some cases, it
    expires.

And Gregory got it wrong. Democrats don't support social and economic
equality (i.e. everyone "created equal" and being presented the same
opportunities), but instead equity (forcing outcomes to be the same by >> > holding those who put in more effort back).

I would hope that equality and equity would be supported by everyone
    regardles of political leanings.

So you think it is right to force outcomes and penalize those who put in more effort? You do know that is what eventually leads to nothing getting done? You do realize that equity cancels out equality, right?

I never, ever said that it was right to force anything or that anyone should b
    penalized.

Something equitable is a good thing.

That is what equitable is... attempting to force outcomes.

I'm so freaking tired of hearing about the poor black whomever, look Anyone and I do mean anyone of any color it does not matter, can pull themselves out of disparity if they choose to.. If your American born there is no limit.
If you disagree then tell me what it is that I am missing.

It's our fault that we choose
not to live in conditions of squaller and filth?

No, but it is the fault of society that some people in the past have had no other choice.
No. I disagree with that notion or idea, that it is always someone else's fault. That is a statement of nothing that largely does nothing.

I do not know who Dylan Mulvaney is -- and George Floyd was not a hero,
but what happened to him was a prime example of a system gone wrong.
Well maybe George would be alive today if he choose not to criminal with ripping off the corner store with fake money. That was not the first occurrence of this criminal act. All those drugs in his system?

You wanna proclaim it was a knee on his neck. That killed him...
    ok not ok but ok.

Why was he resisting arrest and being not compliant? No one wants to talk about those things, him and his phoney claim of claustrophobia of getting into the back of the police car. The vehicle he drove to the corner store was just as packed (like a car filled with gypsies) - why no claustrophobia then?
Freaking Criminal who was not worth it - with what that Nation did next.

How should it have been done?

George W. Bush had eight years.

    Barack Obama had eight years.
He could have done it on his first day in office.

    Donald Trump had four years.
He could have done it on his first day in office.

My recollection is that diplomats in Afghanistan, and others, were urging him
to start earlier so as to get everyone removed safely.

George W. Bush could have withdrawn US forces from Afghanistan
three weeks after he had sent them in, having failed to capture
or kill Osama bin Laden & Co., who had escaped to Pakistan.

Barack Obama could have withdrawn US forces, having had his own
chance. But at least he brought justice to Osama bin Laden & Co.,
    to the delight everyone.

Donald Trump never bothered to do much of anything about it,
except late in his term invited the Taliban to Camp David to
make a deal so they could return to power in that hellhole
    of a fucked up place.

Joe Biden had enough, and early in his first year in office
pulled the plug on the entire operation, bringing all US troops
home for good, after they had spilled twenty years of blood and
gore for a cause that was never worth it.

Biden, or someone in his administration, didn't want to "spoil the surprise"

Men who won championships were paid eight times as much as women

Men who won championships in soccer were also paid many times as
much as women. Until another lesbian came along and changed that,
    for the better.

Men gave in to women very quickly when it came to soccer. You see,
in that game, women play with bigger balls. And trust me when I tell

Best to give them what they want. You'll be glad you did.

I.e. the exact opposite of the Viet Nam evacuation. The diplomats
refused to allow it, but other officers did it any way, including under
    fire in the last helicopter.

If they were urging evacuation then he should have listened to them.

The lack of time was created on this end. They also apparently didn't
do a great job letting Americans who might want/need to leave know that
    it was time to go.

That was part of it. He is now under indictment in Georgia for the same call plus a lot more.

I am not sure why he was being recorded/transcribed, but asking
someone to "find votes" is a horrible way to request a recount.

The call was recorded out of caution because the Georgia officials knew
who they were talking to. To "find votes" is a pseudonym for create
votes, not asking for a recount.

Again -- there was a lot more involvement behind the scenes beside that speech. It was only part of the story. He is now under indictment by

Have they charged, indicted, or arrested Ray Epps yet? He was very involved in inciting the crowd that day. Honest question, I lost

    Hello Greg,

And all you can think of is, Archie Who?

8 is the number from Rodgers College days.

Quarterbacks in the NFL can choose any number, 0-19.

Lamar Jackson, No. 8, Baltimore Ravens
Aaron Rodgers, No. 8, New York Jets
Troy Aikman, No. 8, Dallas Cowboys
Archie Manning, No. 8, New Orleans Saints

Brett Favre, No. 4, Green Bay Packers
Derek Carr, No. 4, New Orleans Saints

Numbers are special. Especially for quarterbacks.
And there are some numbers that no football player
regardless of position, dares put on his uniform.
Such as number 69. Don't know why, as no explanation
has ever been given. Only that the NFL refuses to
    issue certain numbers ...

Joe Namath, No. 12, New York Jets
Aaron Rogers, No. 12, Green Bay Packers
Roger Staubach, No. 12, Dallas Cowboys
Ken Stabler, No. 12, Raiders/Oilers (16 for Saints)
    Tom Brady, No. 12, Patriots/Bucs

The number 12 was retired in 1985 by the New York Jets.
The number 4 will be retired this year by the Green Bay Packers.

I'll let you figure out why.

And all you can think of is, Archie Who?

8 is the number from Rodgers College days.

"I'm excited about going back to my college number."
    ~ Aaron Rodgers

Nobody is questioning Rodgers' decision as to what number
to wear as quarterback of the New York Jets. However, it is
quite apparent you know little about now numbers are chosen,
    especially at the collegiate level.

Which is why I mentioned the real reason as to why Aaron Rodgers
chose to wear the number 8 as quarterback of the New York Jets.

You see, when he played for the Green Bay Packers, he did so
while wearing the number 12, for his entire career. Why? Because
his hero had worn number 8, and Rodgers was no Saint.

Remembee what I told you in my last message. Archie Manning wore
number 8 when he played in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints.

That is the same number Aaron Rodgers wore when he played in college
for Butte CC and California. Was this a coincidence? Not a chance. And
    I can prove it.

    Ask yourself this question -

    Why can't college players wear 6. 7, 8, 9?

Remember when Aaron Rodgers played football in college.

How did he manage to skirt that rule, and why was he allowed to do so?

You see, this was college. And referees got to set their own rules.
These digits require two hands to sign. And referees do not like
having to use both hands to sign. So that is why they limited what
    numbers players could wear.

The way I figure it, Rodgers got away with it while playing for a
community college. And no referee was going to make him stop when
he continued to wear it while playing for a real university.

Of course, in the NFL there is no such rule. Quarterbacks can wear
any number they want, 0-19. And there was no way Aaron Rodgers was
ever going to call himself a big, fat 0.

After he signed with the New York Jets, there was some question as
to what number he would wear, since the number 12 was synonymous with
Joe Namath. And besides, the Jets had retired number 12 in 1985.

As such, even though Joe Namath had given him permission, Aaron
Rodgers just couldn't do it. No way Jets fans were going to allow
him to wear his old Green Bay Packers number 12 in their stadium.

That is why Aaron Rodgers chose to wear the number of his boyhood
hero, Archie Manning. The same number he wore while playing college
ball (despite the referees rule not to do so).

Aaron Rodgers is more talented than any Manning.

Archie Manning had a 67% passing completion ratio.
Aaron Rodgers had only a 65% passing completion ratio.

    Want proof?
    Read this it's from Wikipedia.

I watched Archie Manning play. Live, and in person. When he played
at Ole Miss, and also when he played for the New Orleans Saints. He
was one of the most talented players ever to play the game. He was
a walk-on at Ole Miss, not a scholarship player. Was voted second
to Jim Plunkett for the Heisman Trophy. Drafted 2nd in the 1st round
by the New Orleans Saints. Finished his career playing briefly for
    the Oilers and the Vikings.

    Season starts this weekend.

My prediction still stands. Saints vs Jets in Super Bowl.

We should make Star Trek's Transporter a working reality.
Then they could step onto the pads and transport them to Canada, that should about do it. Think of the benefits we could even "Send them Back"

As much as I'd like to teach Al a lesson about unwanted migrants, I hope that the Democrat Border Crisis doesn't spread to Canada. (I may want to resettle there one day!)

Canada still requires a passport for entry into their country. I miss having that here in the USA. Canada knows who their guests are and where they came from, and we don't.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams wouldn't be the the only one, changing his tune.

Eric Adams is already a certified racist who compares white women to plantation owners, and now he gets to add "anti-immigrant" to his resume.

Andrew Cuomo should sit little Eric Adams on his lap and tell him the story about "my grandparents were immigrants" and "this country was built by
    immigrants."

    lol ok

Canada still requires a passport for entry into their country. I miss having that here in the USA. Canada knows who their guests are and where they came from, and we don't.
Yes for more than a few years Canada has required a passport for entry.
When I visited Canada, it was on a whim, We traveled kitty corner from our honeymoon vacation spot from Rockport,MA (which was really great) stayed at the Captian's Bounty right near the beach. Then we drove cross ways into Canada, they are a friendly lot too, they asked: how long will you be staying? (that type of thing.) I found myself speeding down the road and then realized it was kph, opps.

We finally arrived at a very nice fancy chateau with vacancy where a sleepy French gentleman approached, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
When he saw the American cash, he woke up, like he won the lottery.
Next morning wanting breakfast only to find a wee glass of orange juice and a croissant (naturally). We opted to head back to the NY and was nearly interrogated by the U.S. officials; trunk and even the hood open on the car looking throughly as if I was a smuggling contraband into the U.S.
I guess it is a good thing, we didn't stop for those fireworks that I wanted.

Andrew Cuomo should sit little Eric Adams on his lap and tell him the story about "my grandparents were immigrants" and "this country was
    built by immigrants."
I noticed Washington D.C. is slow walking those work permits for those who want to work. Now Eric Adams is stating that NYC will be destroyed due to those people that are being bused in. So much for a sanctuary city, this is a Tuesday for the State of Texas. He is no leader.
Come to think of it the last one was also a real winner also.
There is your problem New York City. They never learn.

That's the way it should be on both sides, on both borders. We don't need illegal immigrants coming in, and we don't need domestic murder suspects sneaking out either.

What do you think about that? I don't want them freeloading, but I also don't want them working until we find out their true identities and true criminal backgrounds. It could create a dangerous situation (for legit Americans) in the workplace.

There is your problem New York City. They never learn.

Eric Adams says "This will destroy NYC," but it's really the sanctuary city status that's destroying it. If they change that status, then Greg Abbott will change the bus destinations (he seems like a fair guy.)

But no matter. The NFL says it is okay. NFL added the number 0

The number 12 was retired in 1985 by the New York Jets.
The number 4 will be retired this year by the Green Bay Packers.

Derek Carr wears number 4. Brett Favre's old number.

What? No quote on your fan favorite Manning,

Archie Manning would have been a significant improvement from what
I saw attempt to play quarterback for the New York Giants last night.

Eli Manning was present at last night's game between the Giants
and the Cowboys. He was the only person the crowd could cheer given
the lousy performance of the football team.

Good God. 40-0. Largest shut out margin on opening day in history.
And to be honest, it could have been worse.

What a lousy excuse of a football team.

I thought it was relevant, but yeah he sucked so bad with the Who Dat "Saints" I wouldn't want others seeing that either.

Archie Manning was All-Pro but never won the Super Bowl.
Eli and Peyton were both All-Pro and each won two Super Bowls.
Jim Plunkett was awarded the Heisman Trophy, with Archie Manning
second. Plunkett was never All-Pro, or much of anything else, but
    did win one Super Bowl.

One of the big problems with gov't is that the people making the decisions bear no responsibility for the outcomes of those decisions. This is especially true for the Ignorant Elitists who can never admit that their policies are failures and will always double down on those failed policies.

One of the things we need to fix in our gov't is to make those who pass the law responsible for the outcome. Ex: If they vote for raising the Minimum Wage, and the outcome of that is fewer people working, then the people who voted for that Minimum Wage increase should be fined accordingly.

There is no way that the Jets will abandon Aaron Rodgers, he will get through his injury and Rodgers will return.

The Jets already had a starting quarterback before Aaron Rodgers
signed with the team. The Jets still have that very same starting
quarterback. And guess what? That quarterback did his part, and
did exactly what he was paid to do. Football is a team effort, not
an individual sport, so credit is due for all who played the game.

We will be just fine. Onto Week 2 @ Dallas.

You know what Dak did to the Giants.
You do not want to know what Dak will do to the Jets.

There is NO chance that Dak will shut out the NY Jets like he did w/ the Giants 40-0 and if he thinks that this is the plan.

That was a sorry excuse of a football team that took the field
against the Cowboys. I hope and pray to God I never see such a thing
ever again in my lifetime. And trust me when I tell you, I have seen
some very bad Saints games over the years. Too many to count.

He will soon learn that the Jets are nothing like the Giants.

If the Jets put on such as show as did the Giants, Aaron Rodgers
will tear his other achilles tendon and hang up his cleats for good.

    For Life,
    Lee

Well that's rather Jim Dandy. Thank you son, I really appreciate that

And yet, the Jets coach has so little conficence in Wilson's
backup that he brought in journeyman Randall Cobb as "emergency" quarterback rather than sticking by Tim Boyle. Been in the NFL
for 13 years, completing one pass for less than 10 yards.
what are you talking about? Randall Cobb came to New York with Rodgers.
Cobb being slected as the back up plan as the QB is a just in case sitution. You would rather have the Jets do nothing, yeah we ain't doing that.
    Zack is the guy.

If the Jets put on such as show as did the Giants, Aaron Rodgers
will tear his other achilles tendon and hang up his cleats for good.
Bring your hate Rodgers - is counting on it, you already know that the Jets are turning that hate into fuel. I would stand back, as the the afterburners ignite. If not then your body will glow a firey red, where we can all toast the marshmellows.

You're going to spend them all at once, if you keep betting against the Jets.

    Hello Greg,

Well that's rather Jim Dandy. Thank you son, I really LL>GD>appreciate
    that

And yet, the Jets coach has so little conficence in Wilson's
backup that he brought in journeyman Randall Cobb as "emergency"
quarterback rather than sticking by Tim Boyle. Been in the NFL
for 13 years, completing one pass for less than 10 yards.

    what are you talking about?

The Jets coach lacks confidence in Wilson's ability as starting
quarterback. And no confidence at all in the backup quarterback.

Randall Cobb came to New York with Rodgers.

A bench warmer. Notice he never moved an inch in both games.
Whatever the Jets owner is paying him, he isn't worth it.

A journeyman, having never been able to establish himself as a
starting quarterback with any team in the NFL over a 13-year career.
Not even a good backup, having extremely limited playing experience.
Four passes thrown, with one completion. For less than 10 yards.

Cobb being slected as the back up plan as the QB is a just in case sitution.

Get real. The Saints have a much better "emergency" quarterback
with Tayson Hill - who has actually started several games, and played
    multiple positions.

You would rather have the Jets do nothing, yeah we ain't doing that.
    Zack is the guy.

Yeah, he did a real bang-up job against the Cowboys, losing by
a score of only 30-10. Imagine that. The Cowboys outscored both
New York teams by a combined score of 70-10. They are Dak good!

Face it, man. Your Jets are not very good. Maybe a tad bit better
than the Giants. And even that is a maybe, given the Giants actually
won a game, 31-28, against the Cardinals.

If the Jets want to win games in the NFL, they have to score points.
A quarterback who is not able to do the job is not worth keeping,
Much less being on the playing field. OTOH, the Baltimore Ravens did
    have Dilfer ...

If the Jets put on such as show as did the Giants, Aaron Rodgers
will tear his other achilles tendon and hang up his cleats for LL>good.

Bring your hate Rodgers - is counting on it, you already know that the Jets
are turning that hate into fuel.

Zach Wilson threw three interceptions against the Cowboys. Would
Rodgers have done any better, had he been able to play? On a really
bad day, Rodgers might have been intercepted once. But three times?
No way. The score could have been worse, but the Cowboys had mercy.

I would stand back, as the the afterburners ignite.

Rodgers is no longer dating Dana Patrick.
    Wilson is a dud.
    And what follows is worse.

If not then your body will glow a firey red, where we can all toast the marshmellows.

Saints & Sinners. The Perfect Match.

You're going to spend them all at once, if you keep betting against the Jets.

Oh, get real. Everybody knows Rodgers faked his injury. No way
he was going to play for a loser. Want proof? Look at what he did
last year. After his beloved Packers failed to make the playoffs,
with a losing record, he told them bye-bye. Expect the same kind
of behavior when the Jets finish their season.

    Cowboys 30
    Jets 10

    Giants 31
    Cardinals 28

    Falcons 25
    Packers 24

As I said before, let them all start showing up in Penicton and I suspect Al's reaction would be very similar to the folks in Martha's Vinyard.

But even when that happens, he'll just blame Trump for it (or whatever the silly narrative may be at the time.)

When I went -- 2017 -- US citizens only needed a driver's license. *However*, you needed a passport to get back INTO the US so you do sort
of need one to go to Canada.

2017 was way different than 2023.

With more than 10,000 undocumented migrants crossing the border every day, wouldn't it seem ridiculous for authorities to ask you for ID as you drive in from Canada?

Have they charged, indicted, or arrested Ray Epps yet? He was very involved in inciting the crowd that day. Honest question, I lost
    track.

So have I. I don't recall him at all.

In past, his continued freedom of any legal action has been a hot
topic as it makes people wonder why such a person would be allowed freedom while other, smaller fish (and a few bigger ones) are being prosecuted.

Remind me who he was, what he did.

He is the one that shows up on several video tapes as encouraging people to
do the things they did. Many believe him to be a federal plant, and many
at the protest were even caught on camera calling him a "Fed" while he
tried to get them to riot.

Since asking that question, I heard he got charged with a misdemeanor.
Since his role sure looks like that of a ring-leader, a misdemeanor does not seem harsh enough (unless he was a plant).

If I were a betting man, I would put money on "the charge quietly
disappears" or "he doesn't serve time."

We were having migrant problems before 2017, too. That was part of Trump's platform and part of what got him elected.

Getting out of Canada into the US was much easier than getting into Canada
from the US, even with a passport.

    Thanks for playing.
