I use Roboform for that.
My passwords have nothing to do with anything about me (name, pets name, etc). And its basically the same one with a combination of capitals, lower case, numbers, symbols, etc.
If for some reason I'm unable to recall my password (say on a different device than PC/laptop) I just run through those combinations till I get
right one for that site.

Some sites impose a limit of tries, and then lock you out. I
would still recommend a password formula based on the site/
service that one is using and then add a phrase.

I use Dashlane...to each his own. Plus, I can access the data either on
the desktop, or via the smartphone.

I don't use the same password...I have Dashlane generate one for me.
If a certain application won't let Dashlane generate one, then I have
to create a funky one.

True. My basic password is the same most places. The variables are
low/high case and a three digit number, with and without a symbol.
But I seldom remember which is good for where, hence PW managers. :)
Firefox has a built PW manager which will automatically fill in the info when asked. I like that feature.
And I am linked in across all my devices.
Of course should some bad guy get hold of one of these he would be
bored with my sites: Doc's, local newspaper, You Tube, etc. No super secret sites on my machines. :)
Well, there is the bank, but its not the compete PW since I have to add something to what I have saved.

This is esp. bad on my phone with those small key pads.

If you'll notice, the letters U, I, and O, are next to each other
on the keyboard. You may mean to type SHUT or SHOT, but I'll give
you 3 guesses what you type instead...and the first 2 don't count. <G>

Also, I've had 5 different Samsung models from T-Mobile, and
just like the previous 4, they will NOT hold a charge after using
them for a short time. Next week, I'm turning it in, and saying
if they can't get me a decent Android phone, I'm going to cancel
my contract when it runs out at the end of the year.

This battery flaw has been an issue in several consecutive
Samsung Galaxy models, and they still keep selling them. I use
my Moto phone with Verizon quite a bit, but it doesn't run down
like the Samsung Galaxy one does, and I don't use it that often.

I have a REAL phone, an iPhone. Accept no inferior substitute. :)
Sometimes mine will hold a charge other times using it the same amount of time (more or less) it'll run down.
I have several podcasts downloaded from I Heart Radio that runs it down during the day. But no big deal charging it.
