bawling with their kids at the school bus stop. But, after the bus loads the kids, and disappears over the hill, the parents start doing cartwheels, and celebrating. <G>
Happens every year. The best time to shop for decorations is the day
after (when most gifts get exchanged). Prices are greater than 70% off.

And not just Christmas stuff, but every holiday. I like
to hit the stores the day after Halloween, Easter, etc
and stock up on the discounted candy. Speaking of
which. I once temped for a local bookstore (in addition
to books they had all sorts of office supplies, etc).
It was around Christmas. Instead of marking down the
leftovers they were collected the after we returned
from Christmas day, stacked on pallets and moved to a
second floor store room, and unsold Valentine's Day
candy was brought down to replace it, that had been
sitting there sinc
Sort of like when I was visiting people around the country a couple
of years ago and my tail lights disappeared down the road. :)

It seems that you are still experiencing the cut-off problem.
Anyway.. As a bookshop owner, I hate seasonal titles. I'm
always left with unsold Christmas/Easter/Valentines/Halloween-
themed books for kids. I just round up the left overs and
store them for the next time the season rolls around.

Fish and Visitors Stink after 3 days - Benjamin Franklin.

I'll bet it's expired by now.
With social media, games, etc I wonder how many kids
today actually read books, unless "forced" to? With so
many with short attention spans today. Joe
I would much better leave with people weeping and wailing, begging me
to stay longer than their muttering under their breath "I thought he
would never leave".
So has the bookstore. A big box drugstore was built there a couple
of years ago.
I was about done anyway.
It was about the candy and stuff that had been sitting in the
storeroom since the last time of the holiday.
