Note it is a development version and not a release. However
glibc-2.35 is only a month away and, as I predicted to Benny,
glibc-2.34 ended up being skipped over. In the meantime this
partition will probably be the default root/boot system until then
unless something ugly reveals itself. I still have the previous partition in reserve. :-)
2.34 is unstable in gentoo, 2.35 is not in gentoo yet
so i am still at 2.33 stable
it will come kernel 5.16.x with gpu optimizing before 2023 :=)
no hope for fb0 keep showing pengiuns yet
but atleast amdgpu is optimized in 5.16
2.34 is unstable in gentoo, 2.35 is not in gentoo yetI believe 2.34 is unstable, and 2.35 doesn't exist yet.

Understood. I am in the same situation ... up to now that is. The EuroPoint doesn't require graphics or even a monitor. Also it uses
i915 and is lowpower so no need for anything other than server type
apps.
it will come kernel 5.16.x with gpu optimizing before 2023 :=)I am betting 5.18.x will be when this branch comes together.
no hope for fb0 keep showing pengiuns yetWe'll get there I am sure.
but atleast amdgpu is optimized in 5.16I haven't tried it yet. As of this boot;
cat /proc/version:
Linux version 5.15.12 (root@heatsink) (gcc (GCC) 11.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.37) #1 SMP Sun Jan 2 17:05:58 UTC 2022
Note that heatsink is the hostname where the EuroPoint resides.
currently gentoo cleanup glibc dependice and need for glibc api,
its either now you build all with glibc or not
note glib is another story :=)
is not on kernel.org yet ?
Wed Dec 29 14:49:17 -00 2021
note possible brokken timezone in gentoo :/
currently gentoo cleanup glibc dependice and need for glibc api,That sounds more Debian-ish to me. Myself I am sticking with glibc.
its either now you build all with glibc or not
note glib is another story :=)Don't get me started on that. I'll pretend I didn't see this.
Besides you need glib for mc.
is not on kernel.org yet ?As of this writing I see 5.16-rc8 which is a release candidate if I am not mistaken. The latest release is 5.15.12.
Wed Dec 29 14:49:17 -00 2021It's okay, other than by convention which has UTC as +00, but the
note possible brokken timezone in gentoo :/
above is acceptable.
TZ=UTC date --rfc-3339=sec --date="Wed Dec 29 14:49:17 -00 2021"
2021-12-29 14:49:17+00:00
I believe the above is MUCH better output and note the '+' character
in the tz. Anyhow the above demonstrates that gentoo's timezone is
fine.
Besides you need glib for mc.
is changed on gentoo to not imho be supported in the use flags
atleast
it is mostly 0000 for utc adjust, its not know always if its
timezone or adjust to utc
