openvpn
or maybe TigerVNC, or Teamviewer

Linux version 5.14.8 (root@bitskii) (gcc (GCC) 11.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.37) #1 SMP Sun Sep 26 22:12:48 UTC 2021
linux, like life, is good :)
yep, got it :)Why doesn't that surprise me?
Speaking of which, have you managed to
update glibc?
I am still using 2.33 as we speak.
I have a bootable
2.34 based rootfs but it is currently "officially" flakey.
It will probably stay that way until just before glibc-2.35 is released (January-ish). :-/

same here, what does 2.34 do that cant wait ?
i keep amd64 in gentoo for stable ebuild atleast for @system ebuilds

Totally break the new firefox-91 builds.
seamonkey-2.53.9 works
though so it isn't a total loss unless of course you *NEED* firefox,
especially the esr source. Also firefox-91 claims that you won't be
able to compile it on older systems.
So far my experience seems to
indicate the exact opposite.
It is early though. Anyhow some people
need firefox to properly stream from amazon and the such since
seamonkey cannot - and more than likely every other gui browser except the google one (chrome or chromium or ?????).

+1
I am in the process of upgrading three machines but am sticking with glibc-2.33 for more or less the same reasons as you.
Two of them
don't have gui's and seldom have a monitor and/or keyboard attached.
The one I am replying to your msg, where Little Mikey's Brain resides,
is a prime case.
Compiled by GNU CC version 11.2.0.
libc ABIs: UNIQUE IFUNC ABSOLUTE
For bug reporting instructions, please see:
Works like a charm and will be easy to upgrade to glibc-2.34 if that
day ever comes. Heck I might skip over it to glibc-2.35 ... in Febuary-ish that is.

you need links with fb0 support :=)
maybe on your os badly brokken ?
would this be impossible in gopher:// ? :)
ssh only ?
11.2.0 is still masked in gentoo, if thats matter for glibc

Not for streaming since it won't work without backup from mplayer. If
so I'd just use mplayer without the browser and "-vo fbdev2" which
will work with kernel drm drivers such as inteldrmfb. On a half
decent server that will more than likely to be astdrmfb and "-vo
fbdev2" will work with that as well.

Then why do they (gcc and friends) work with glibc-2.33? They are all exactly the same source/versions I am using on moosile, which is what
I am calling the latest glibc-2.34 based rootfs. Everthing other than glibc is exactly the same.
Also, if it can't be compiled with gcc and friends it ain't worth diddley-squat methinks. I see little good coming from the clang
crowd. How about you?
would this be impossible in gopher:// ? :)
I've done it with ftpd on a wireless connection so I think it might be possible. However given the lack of client software it more than
likely isn't worth the effort getting it to work. At least mplayer
can handle ftp protocol whereas firefox is now a no-show. Oh well ...
it was fun while it lasted.
ssh only ?
That and binkd. One of the other machines (no gui etc) is hosting the binkd connection for "Little Mikey's EuroPoint".
11.2.0 is still masked in gentoo, if thats matter for glibc
I think it is a bigger matter for the kernel version but there are patches for gcc-10 (possibly other versions) to bring them into sync
with linux-5.12 and newer.
i still plan on make the husky github build on this, so i can
finaly drop sf.net cvs read only problem
it will give problems if its changes on newer gcc version not
tested
i just use python :=)
if it cant be shared with gopher its not worth of shareing :=)
any news of the termux ?
unless debian fucked apt-get :)
good plan, more coffee for me now

Interesting. Personally I'm still doing things like this without any networking, ssh or otherwise.

As we speak the biggest issue is the kernel version and as of today
I'm returning to using 5.10 kernels for the two stable systems.

Linux version 5.10.68 (root@heatsink) (gcc (GCC) 11.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.37) #1 SMP Sat Sep 25 05:57:04 UTC 2021
As you can see both gcc and binutils are the same versions as used on
the "Linux version 5.14.8" was. Beats me if a glibc-2.34 based system would have fared any better. Maybe I'll try it soon but not today.
i just use python :=)-1
Heathen bastard!!! You're starting to sound like a Debian developer. :::evil grin:::
if it cant be shared with gopher its not worth of shareing :=)+1
Now you're sort of talking my language. I was never into gopher but maybe that could change?
any news of the termux ?Not since getting binkd working. For the record I used clang to port
it which I am not too proud to admit here.
As far as I am concerned
termux is the only decent app for Android based so-called smart
devices. A gcc port would have been best.
unless debian fucked apt-get :)Heh, heh. So far I haven't had any issues with it but I hardly ever
use it. I'll send a msg from there later just to remind myself what still needs to be done. I definetly have the basics working.
good plan, more coffee for me nowI am just getting started after having my caffine booster shot.
if you did the husky clang compile in termux it would be complete
not the gcc bugs there ?
or upgrade features :=)
without python there would be no gentoo anyware
curl can du gopher://
A gcc port would have been best.
start createing it :)
and a tftp server
if you did the husky clang compile in termux it would be completeI didn't know there was one. I'll have a looksee later.
not the gcc bugs there ?It has it all. :-/
or upgrade features :=)
Now that the 5.10.68 kernel is booted everything looks a tad more
stable.
without python there would be no gentoo anywareAre you bragging or complaining?
curl can du gopher://That is news to me.
A gcc port would have been best.
start createing it :)
If it really mattered any I would. I see little value in any of
that. But I still believe termux is the best thing I've seen on
those devices.
and a tftp server
Speaking of streaming, mplayer will work with that. I am less
confident about gopher.
if some make the husky.vim embedded editor it would be a dream
5.10.68 is also current stable on gentoo
curl gopher://example.org/some.mp3.file.mp3 | mplayer
dont see why it could not make to work
