    MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Sausages En Croute I
    Categories: Sausages, Pastry, Herbs
    Yield: 12 Servings

    500 g Bulk sausage meat (1.1 lb)
    1 lg Onion; fine chopped
    1 lg Carrot; scraped, grated
    1 cl Garlic; peeled, crushed
    1/2 c Soft Breadcrumbs
    1/2 ts Dried Mixed Herbs
    1 tb Chutney
    3 Sheets Flaky (Puff) Pastry

    MMMMM--------------------------EGG WASH-------------------------------
    1 lg Egg Yolk
    1 tb Water

    Place sausage meat in a bowl. Peel & finely chop onion.
    Peel & grate carrot. Crush garlic, peel & mash. Add onion,
    carrot, garlic, breadcrumbs, mixed herbs & chutney to
    sausagemeat. Mix until well combined.

    Set oven @ 400ºF/205ºC.

    Divide mixture evenly into 12. Shape into cylinders.
    Divide each pastry sheet into four. Wrap cylinders in
    pastry to completely encase filling. Press edges firmly
    together.

    Place on a lightly greased oven tray, seam side down.
    Brush with egg wash. Decorate with a fork. Bake for 20
    minutes in preheated oven, then reduce heat to 350ºF/175ºC
    and continue baking for a further 10 minutes.

    Serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney.

    Makes 12.

    EGG WASH: Combine egg yolk & water.

    Title: Microwave One-Crust Pastry
    Categories: Five, Pastry
    Yield: 1 Pie

    1/2 c A-P flour
    3/4 ts Salt
    1/2 c Butter
    3 tb (to 4 tb) water

    Mix flour and salt.

    Cut in butter.

    Mix in water one tablespoon at a time.

    Gather into a ball and let sit for 5 minutes.

    Roll out. Place in pie plate.

    Refrigerate 20 minutes.

    Microwave on MED 6-9 minutes. Check for doneness,
    let sit 2 minutes (it will continue to cook a bit
    after you take it out of the microwave).

    Use in any pie recipe requiring a baked pie crust.
