Title: Jazzy Beef Soup

Yield: 6 servings
1 tb Oil
2 lb Beef; in 1/2" chunks
1 lg Onion; chopped
28 oz Can crushed tomatoes;
- undrained
4 c Water
4 cl Garlic; minced
1 tb Beef base
2 ts Sugar
1/4 ts Ground red pepper
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Black pepper
3 c Chopped cabbage
1 lg Bell pepper; chopped
2 tb Lemon juice
In a soup pot over medium-high heat, heat oil and cook
beef and onion 6 to 8 minutes or until browned. Add
tomatoes, water, garlic, beef base, sugar, red pepper,
salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to
low; cover and simmer 45 minutes.
Stir in cabbage and bell pepper and cook 15 to 20 more
minutes or until beef and cabbage are tender. Stir in
lemon juice and serve.
