Hi, Alexander! Recently you wrote in a message to All:
"The sound of the alam clock is like the sound of a
gunshot fo me!"
Uh... still wondering about your problems with quoting. It seems you omitted a couple of letters here, but Gleb & I quoted exactly what we saw. :-Q
"Does it rise you up?"
"No, I lie as dead".
or "a dead"? ;-)
We speak of the dead as those who are no longer alive & we also speak of the dead of night... but I've yet to see this word used as a noun with a(n).
We might say a piece of electrical or electronic equipment is as dead as a doornail if we see & hear no sign of life. But in this case I'm using the word as an adjective, which you evidently did in your example. I might say you were dead to the world if you were still breathing but did not respond when the alarm clock went off or you didn't respond when others tried to wake you. :-))
