Title: Sesame Seed Cookies

1 c Sesame seeds; hulled
1/2 c Coconut
2 c Unbleached white flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Soy oil or butter
1 c Brown sugar
1 Egg
1 ts Vanilla

Lightly toast sesame seeds and shredded coconut under broiler until
light brown. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt together.
Cream shortening with brown sugar, add egg, vanilla, toasted sesame
seeds, and coconut. Beat well and blend in dry ingredients. Shape
into balls. Place on cookie sheet, flatten with fork. Bake at 350?F
for 10 to 15 minutes.
