      Title: Easy Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Cobbler

    1/3 c  Sugar
    1/3 c  Packed brown sugar
      3 tb A-P flour
    1/2 ts Ground cinnamon
        ds Ground cloves
      4 lg Tart apples; peeled, sliced
      2 tb Cold butter

      1 c  A-P flour
      2 tb Sugar
  1 1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/3 c  Shortening or lard
      3 tb Milk
      1 lg Egg

           Vanilla ice cream

           Whipped cream
 
  Set oven @ 350ºF/175ºC.
  
  In a large bowl, combine sugars, flour, cinnamon and
  cloves. Add apples and toss to coat. Transfer to a
  greased 8-in. square baking dish. Dot with butter.
  
  In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and
  salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse
  crumbs. In a small bowl, whisk milk and egg; stir into
  flour mixture just until moistened. Drop by tablespoons
  full over apple mixture. Bake until topping is golden
  brown and filling is bubbly, 35-40 minutes. Serve warm,
  with ice cream or heavy cream and cinnamon, if desired.
