Last night's supper was a burger on bun with a slice of tomato and about
a teaspoon of pickle relish. Put the relish on the burger, then the
tomato slice so it held together quite well. Had corn chips (Steve had sweet potato chips.) and lightly pickled cucumber & onion to go with it.

Sounds good. Possibly I haven't had a good sweet relish as it's pretty
much bicks or nothing around here.

You would probably like the dill relish if you can find it. I like dill pickles as a side but not in a sandwich.

I'm going to go on a hunt next weekened for this. There's a couple of
high end grocery stores I don't normally shop at I'll check.

    My mom used to make it, using green tomatoes. I was thinking back today;
I think the only time she had bell peppers in the house was when she was
making the relish. She never used anything hotter than a bell in any of
her cooking; I probably used more in the first year of my marriage than
    she did in her lifetime.

Just like my parents. I'm sure even today they think a bell pepper is
    spicy. LOL

Not even worried about the cost since it will be one jar to see how I
    like it. :)

I think my parents were like that, given the number of peppers we had in
the kitchen when I was growing up. I do know that one of my friends is
for sure a pepper wimp. While we (Steve and I, this lady and her
husband) were stationed in HI, we went out for Korean food at one of
these hole-in-the-wall places where you got (small plate--meat, 1 scoop
rice, 2 sides, regular plate--2 scoop rice, meat, 4 sides) a mix and
match meal of your choice. She asked for kim chee as one of her sides,
took a bite of it and drained her drink. IIRC, her husband ate the rest
of her kim chee. Steve and I both prefer cucumber kim chee over cabbage
    kim chee.

I've seen it other places than Wegman's but that's where we do most of
our grocery shopping these days. They built a store basically around the
    corner from where we live.

I like kim chee and never found it too spicy. I was at a small place a
few years back and got it as a side. That was the only time I found it
too spicy, I ate it and it was good, just a but painful.

Never tried it. I'll have to look for that now.

There's a small Korean restaurant in Wake Forest that we've gone to a
fair number of times since they opened up about 5 years ago. They always
serve cabbae kim chee as one of their ban chan (small side dishes). I'll
have a bit of it but leave most of it for Steve. He still likes hot and
    spicy more than I do.
