That was a happy moment, as $60/year is a bit much for me.

the next one I wanted (& too old to purchase); they check
every library(that's a LOT, including loonyversities!) in

Happily reading the nexdt Jack Reacher at bedtimes now.
. . Did not want t o read any out of order.
The movie was cool -- it was asort of composite of a few
yearly novels in the dsrties that I'd already finished.
I don't
think it was big enough hit to have the studios pay Lee
Child enough to write for them exclusively. (good!
Although, Hollyweird ceretainly needs capable writerswho
have imaginations -- I'm getting tired of comic book

original(to me) concept movie was "Get Out", which I was
fortunate enough to be invited to a prescreening--so
much more a civilized way to see a film!)

I like my Kobo. I stupidly signed up for the 10 bucks/mth
deal.
Think I am going to get rid of that because I never even
read a book a month.
But, I do read.
I realized I can email my boks to my kindle directly, after downloading(possible on a free basic account)
How'd you initially find out about Z-Lib?
I just list them all in alphabetical order by title in my
shop.
I prefer book order, as there might be references to past
books that I'd like to read as they're intended:
renminiscences.
Iguess if a customer wanted publication order, you'd just
Google up that list for them, eh?
Of course shelf order would be alphabetical by title with
author(also alphabetical); book shelvbing requires an
abcedarian mind!
The Cruise versions? I hear there's a "series" featuring a
new actor to play Reacher.
Yeah, plural? I've only sen the one, yup, with Cruise --
why is he made out to be the all-in-one actor -- that's
not as bad as recasting Bruce Willis as an action hero --
I'm still stuck on him in Mnonlighting
I'd've missed so much with screaming 'kids' in the
theatre! Kids defined as those acting like such.

Yes.. the traditional expectation would be to tackle a series
in publication order. But a successful series won't make too
many references to the earlier releases. Except for "The
Killing Floor" which is the 1st book one should probably read
when starting out in the Jack Reacher series, the other books
can stand on their own reasonably well.
Iguess if a customer wanted publication order, you'd justI keep a small printed list of titles sorted by pubdate.

It was simply one of those "necessity is the mother of
invention" moments. I got tired of "looking" across two shelves
for a Jack Reacher title. But when laid out in title order, I
know which one's I've got or not.

Cruise's role of Reacher and the Mission Impossible guy tended
to blend as one character for me.

Most of your customers just ask for recommendations & you
can point out when the stories are stand-alone?

You don't have a computerized index/db of your stock?
Hollywood really ought to start reading more than just
comic books!
The movie based on "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich
really missed on the characters & castying -- none looked
right except Joe Morelli, maybe.
Ditto "50 Shads of Grey" -- none looked like they do in
the novels, IMO.
But maybe today's gen of movie watchers would recognize
them just fine, or don't care as they don't read. (had an
adult lady friend once tell me "I don't read" (that was
the beginning of the end for me)
It's great -- I can attach a whole bunch of ebooks or
documemts, om most formats & Kindle will convert & display
them on the device or app I want them to be on.
How do you download directly from your Kobo device? Pure
ereader, or a tablet?

Just tried it in this current browser (Chrome) & got the
error & non-connect.
So I tried it on thedarknet directly, using Tor
browser(keeps no history of where you've been, so nobody
can track you onto the darknet, nor see your activities
there (I imagine that protects the sire owners on the
darknet, too)
Haven't found much of free interest on there, I can buy
any drug or weapon, but only using bitcoin. :P
(was just curious as to the possibility, not actually in
the market for any of that stuff)
My first Xanth novel was "Board Stiff". I loved the opening
chapter. The puns were exellent.
I like Piers -- he personally connects with the reasder..4th wall?
..his puns in Xanth gets lame & expected after awhile,.
but his attachment & 4th wall usage in using them is
funny.
In Board Stiff, he made the punnery part of solving the mystery
that the character encountered. That was clever.
I still get a chuckle at this part at the beginning:
"... I'm actually a smart girl who would make any man an
excellent wife. But no man sees that. No man is interested in
my mind or personality, just my whatevers. So here is my wish:
I'm board stiff. I want Adventure, Excitement, and Romance."
Now the ripples made her reflection shimmer. She definitely had
the wishing well's attention. "I searched all over for a
suitable offering," she continued. "It occurred to me that how
you look is governed by the sand on your bottom. It is frankly
sort of dull. So I found a pretty colored stone that should add
interest. Here it is: my offering, and I hope you like it." She
brought out the stone, which was like a faceted blue diamond,
sparkling all over. She dropped it into the well. Something
happened. A sudden whirlwind surrounded her, lifting her up and
ripping off her clothing. She was changing, somehow. Then she
fell flat on the ground. Literally. She had been transformed
into a flat, stiff board with two knotholes for eyes."
I find that people who say that they don't read CAN be made
interested in non-fiction: biographies, history, politics,
books on medical topics, cookbooks, etc..
Same thing with kids. Kids who can't seem to bear struggling
with Harry Potter, can be fascinated by the Guiness World
Record books, encyclopedias, game manuals, field guides, maps.

Good old z-lib. I like that project.
There was a modest storm that blew passed this area last week.
The local repeater for one particular OTA TV channel went out
for a whole week. Initially, I missed hearing/watching the
evening news. But then it was rather nice to have peace and
quiet around the house. I didn't even bother with the news on
the radio. After a week, when the tv came back to life, it was
just doom and gloom and bad shit going on.
