Heating Beds | Smart News | Smithsonian Magazine

'Starlink satellite dishes have a self-heating feature to melt
snow, which may be why cats are drawn to it, reports the
Guardian. Engineers created this feature to stop snow from
interfering with the signal, but can the dish handle a pile of
felines? On Twitter, Taylor says five cats snuggling on his
dish interrupts his video streaming and "slows everything
    down."

    I laugh!

Hey, Richie Rich, how about using what the poor people use for your connectivity -- trust me, it works just as fine as your companies say it does.

Occasionally my TV/cable breaks up, due to weather up the line, liklely. so I just switch to reading a book until it clears. . .

But movies & binging tv is doibne via ad-free filers on my comnputer, which plays them just fine -- zero lag, full LCD multi-colour clarity. No dish required -- no cats affecting my enjoyment of mindless pictures & dialogue beaming into my brain.

I find it so amusing that man in his infinite wisdom thinks
that one thing (a heated dish) is a solution for one thing, but
    nature decides otherwise!

I find it so amusing that man in his infinite wisdom thinks
that one thing (a heated dish) is a solution for one thing, but
    nature decides otherwise!

People forget that man is a PART of Nature, & whatever we do, in our arrogance thinking it's everyti8ng cataclysmic, Nature simply asbsorbs into her paradigm.

That RI-sized island of plastic floating in the Pacific that rco-groups & lobbyists are going nuts over? Natuire absorbed that long ago -- dismantling it, however, will instantly kill millions of living creatures & cause untold numbers to lose their home, & more quickly become prey.

George Carlin suggested, perhaps tongue-n-cheeik, perhaps as a prophet(forthteller, not foreteller) that Nature evolved humans explicitly because Nature waned plastic & this was the most efficient way to get it. . .

It amuses me that this does not contradict any known science, so may well be true. . . No, I don't BELIEVE it,. I think. . .

Doesn't matter what I think or do -- Nature(or "God"-- I don't discriminate) will out in the end, regardless of my thoughts, statements, or actions.

I'm at peace with the fact that in the universe, I'm insignicant.

Even onm Earth, I pretty much am; 1 in 8,000,000,000+ isn't a significant ratio -- in mos5t any rounding system, my existance is zero. What do I care -- sleep, wake, drink coffee, get paid, play online -- for me, I'm a 1 in 1 -- you can't get more significant than 100%

Yup, I relate everything to mathematics, as that's the language all existance(the universe) was written in.

    In my houeshold, I'm 1:5(20%); but our family isn't a Democracy -- it's a Parentocracy, so maybe I'm more like 30%.

Doesn't matter; got coffee & I get paid.

One day my molecules will join the rest of Nature, to be absorbed as per her existing & evolving paradigms ("pair o' diggums")
