• tickfix debug mode?

From Rampage@VERT/SESTAR to digital man on Sun May 3 09:15:17 2020
is there a tickfix.js debug mode? if so, where can i enable it?

i ask because i'm seeing tickfix generated messages with the following style errors being reported to the sender of the tickfix request...

    !Unrecognized area-tag or command on 1:3634/12: '+BACKBONE '
    !Unrecognized area-tag or command on 1:3634/12: '+BBSLISTS '
    !Unrecognized area-tag or command on 1:3634/12: '+MYSTIC '
    !Unrecognized area-tag or command on 1:3634/12: '+MYS_MOD '

but i'm unable to find/see the original message that tickfix is responding to... it is not in my mail base or in my ftn/netmail directory as a msg file so i have no way to look at it and see what the sender may have done to cause these problem reports...

the above areas do exist in my file base and in my tickit.ini file...

There is a '-debug' option, but it doesn't do what you think it does. Right now, all it does is prevent tickfix from deleting the requests after they've been processed. I'll probably rename that option.

i ask because i'm seeing tickfix generated messages with the following style errors being reported to the sender of the tickfix request...

Well those messages were enough for me to see exactly what the problem was. I'm glad I put quotes around those lines so I could see the trailing white-space characters! :-)

but i'm unable to find/see the original message that tickfix is responding to... it is not in my mail base or in my ftn/netmail directory as a msg file so i have no way to look at it and see what the sender may have done to cause these problem reports...

Did smbutil run since that request was processed? If not, I would expect the message to still be in the mail base with a DELETE attribute set.

the above areas do exist in my file base and in my tickit.ini file...

    Gotcha.
