Even though I ran it from sbbs\exec and pkzip was there it must be
calling it from somewhere else. Soon as I added a path to sbbs\exec it
packs it. Go figure lol

If 'pkzip.exe' isn't in your search path, then that's not going to work. See http://cvs.synchro.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ctrl/sbbsecho.ini?view=markup for the detailed "zip" archive configuration for SBBSecho. We've been using info-zip instead of PkZip for a *very* long time now.

And info-zip has been working quite nicely.

I Ian Segers of 1st choice core nz was once with whispernet

and just like to ask if you got my message per cancelling
myfeed with you I have areafix and filefix to remove echo etc
unsure if it worked, but thank you for letting use whispernet
while I was there just to quite here per traffic from my bbs.

Understandable. I disabled 1st Choice Core from WhisperNet. Thank

You're welcome and you're certainly welcomed back at any time. What was the main reason why you wanted the WhisperNet network disabled? If I understand it right, it's because of the lack of activity. I had been undergoing some changes on my machine and not all the nets were enabled. I've double checked that all the nets that are hooked up to WhisperNet are getting a feed and that they are enabled. Also, I plan on getting the echoes more active and that too.
Anyway, keep me in the loop as far as what you decide to do.

Ah, so there weren't people on your BBS participating in WhisperNet. That's unforunate. I hope more people are more active on the network.

Yes that's correct, and pritty quite there as well.

I haven't participated much in WhisperNet in recent years because in the past, it seemed to be taken down, put back up, and changed hosts a lot. I seem to remember I used to get WhisperNet via QWK, then I had to set it up via FTN, and then it changed hosts, etc.. And often that seemed to happen without warning, so I didn't even realize I had stopped receiving WhisperNet messages until I activitly looked at the echos or checked my BBS logs, etc..

I've been on several message nets, and there have been just a couple where the host BBS went offline and disappeared. WhisperNet is the only one I've seen that keeps disappearing, coming back, and switching hosts all the time..

My experience was the same (with Whispernet). I'm currently
linked to about 8 networks and all of them are solid and reliable.
