Yea, Wildcat does not give me the option to pick the app to PACK with.
wcQWK uses Dynazip, which was packaged in WINS 8. Funny thing is, it works very good once the VERT.qwk is decompressed and the recompressed. Not so
much as a glitch. Dove-NET is a popular message forum, I can't believe this has
not been replicated by anyone else. Maybe it's just flaky on my Windows 7 PC.

The only way i can see to fix this is to create a batch file to unzip and re-zip the
    VERT.qwk before processing it.

Arggg! i like see things run like they should.

Is this a know bug between Sychronet and Wildcat?
Seems WINS does not like something about the VERT.qwk.

Sounds like it might be a problem with Dynazip, what does your SCFG>Networks>QWK Package Networks>Vert>Pack and unpack
    command line look
    like?

It sounds like he's using Wildcat.. I don't think he has a SCFG.

Send one of the VERT.qwk files to Santronics and report it as a bug.

Good luck with that, you may get a reply, may!

    Okay, this is strange.

I am now using (3) QWK networks for my Wildcat 8 system.

    Dove-Net - vert.synchro.net
    Radio Weather Net - mojo.synchro.net
    FSnet - topcity2.synchro.net

I have to unzip and re-zip VERT.qwk, and MOJO.qwk before Wildcat's wcQWK will process it. Keep getting a DynaZip error. I have no problem accepting this as a
    Wildcat bug at all.

However, when I download the TOPCITY2.qwk from FSnet which is also a Synchronet system, I don't have to unzip and re-zip and my system processes it perfectly. Got to be something different here.

What in the world is going on?

I was thinking maybe it's a Linux / Windows issue, so I also tried to use the dove.synchro.net but still had same results.

I understand this is an isolated issue, but I sure wish I could figure out what's
going on here. I'm thinking of backing everything up and doing a format and restore on my system. Man, that's a lot of work :-))

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I do a mail poll
to vert.synchro.net to pick up Dove-NET via QWK, The wcQWK packaged
    with my
Wildcat WINS 8 system will not open the VERT.qwk file. Gives a Dynazip error.
I can then UNZIP it manually, and the re ZIP the MESSAGES.DAT back to VERT.qwk and then wcQWK mail processor will process the file fine.

    No, not a known problem.

what are the zip programs being used to zip the QWK packets, and what switches are being used
could be 7zip, could be zip, could be allot of different programs - so find out what your qwk networks are using to archive the qwk mail.

it could be as simple as a commandline switch thats different
it could be a maximum path length problem too

ie myserver/mydata/its/here/somewhere/yourmessage/messages.dat could be too long of a path for wcQwk to be able to handle

What in the world is going on?

My guess: TOPCITY2 is using a different ZIP archiver. I (Vertrauen) am using Zip 3.0 (July 5th 2008), by Info-ZIP

I was thinking maybe it's a Linux / Windows issue, so I also tried to use the dove.synchro.net but still had same results.

dove.synchro.net is a revolving hostname, but regardless of whether you connect (via FTP) to vert.synchro.net (Win10) or cvs.synchro.net (Linux), the packets are created with the Linux version of info-zip.

I understand this is an isolated issue, but I sure wish I could figure out what's
going on here. I'm thinking of backing everything up and doing a format and restore on my system. Man, that's a lot of work :-))

Wow, that's about the last thing I would recommend you do.

See that ^^^? Looks like you need to strip Ctrl-A codes from your QWK packets.
