When you say "the error log", what exactly are you referring to? That does not look like an entry in the data/error.log file, for example.

If you enable debug-level log output for the terminal server, you should see just before that error, a log line to the effect of QNET CMD: 'something'
That line along with the details of what QWKnet hub you're system is trying to connect and transfer packets with would all be helpful information in determining the cause of the problem.

When I logon to the bbs and it says there was an error and I type ;err thats what it shows. Ill upgrade the log level and see what happens.

hey i keep getting this error and then i get a bad packet
    "

    "

is this because i have my msg bases misconfigured or just because i have voting disabled? and if it's just because voting is disabled am i losing a bunch of msgs because it's being renamed .bad?

ignore the dupes error. i just went into my qwk account and changed msg pointers so i can import it again to see if i got the same error.

    thanks,

Because you have voting disabled on your side but enabled in the QWK settings on your hub (VERT).

and if it's just because voting is disabled am i losing a
bunch of msgs because it's being renamed .bad?

No, the valid messages would still have been imported.
