No immediate idea, but I see that with all the uifc utils (e.g. umonitor, echocfg). Looks like a regression.

I run scfg on linux via ssh (I always ran it like this) .. and it now start in black and white instead of the stadnar blue and yellow

I ran into this recently too, I thought it was becauseI had been accessing my server from my laptop, which might have different TERM settings.

So I spent a little time changing the $TERM variable with no luck. "xterm" made the boxes completely solid grey with no visible text. xterm-256color, ansi-bbs, vt100, and other terminal types gave me black & white.

yeah all uicf ran into b&w (include js scripts that use uifc)

i onle get a "SDL Video Initialization Failed" message when programa close.

I notice of this issue moth ago maybe.
if start scfg -c (force color) i see green backgrounds like this:

Probably an issue with your terminal setting and detection. Are you
using a gateway from another system? What terminal application and SSH
client are you using?

$ TERM=xterm /sbbs/exec/scfg -ic

That's a question for the ncurses developers. None of the Synchronet/UIFC code directly cares what your TERM setting is.
