    Hello,

Is anyone using dosemu2 with Synchronet? I gave it a go and it was a no go. Some of the switches have changed and the external.bat doesn't work correctly.

for example: lredir del E: doesn't work in dosemu2.
now the command is lredir -d E:

I had read that dosemu2 solved some problems like Trade Wars 2002.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

You could try mucking around with Synchronet's source and recompiling. The code that generates 'external.bat' (and probably some other relevant stuff) is in src/sbbs3/xtrn.cpp. If you find a solution that works for you, maybe DM can integrate it.

Question is, why would you? What does dosemu2 bring us that dosemu doesn't? As far as I can tell, every single door game I've tried to get working has worked without any issues with dosemu on Ubuntu.

If you want to mess around with how external.bat is created, look in src/sbbs3/xtrn.cpp and search for external.bat. You'll see how the file is created.

Personally, I'd like to see more of a template driven design so you don't have to recompile if you want to tweak external.bat.
