What exactly are the avat-in and out doing exactly? Updating
avatars between all the bbs? It seems to take my vm to a crawl
when it runs. Is there any reason to run this 24 times a day or
can this be set to run at midnight?

system...
Yeah... I think once per day is plenty.
kinda like QWKnet polling... in the synchronet areas that are
gated between FTN and QWKnets, i regularly get new posts on the
FTN side sooner than from the QWKnetworking side... this because
FTN is running ASAP and passing the mail on as soon as it is
ready whereas QWKnetworking is more like end users pulling the
mail from a bbs for offline use... sure, the QWKnet polling can
be increased for more lively traffic flow but that means more,
possibly empty, polling...
Yep, I see that too. I have my QWK polling at 12/day which seems
to be fine.
