  • SBBS for Linux

From topper@VERT/TIME to All on Sat Dec 15 21:12:21 2012
Hi! Every one. I run an old dell PC for my BBS and I run windows xp pro. Well windows xp pro will not be getting any more updates after 2014. So I wanted to get windows xp off and get another OS installed and SBBS running on another platform.

So I look at centOS because it's free and the problem I have is I didn't want to download all this extra crap to compile SBBS for linux just to get it running. Does any one know of a SBBS for linux that's all ready compiled and ready to run. Other then the one for windows.

    Thanks
    Topper.

I don't think there is a pre-built Synchronet for Linux. I believe you need to build it from the source.

Also, this question would probably belong better in the Synchronet Discussion or Synchronet Sysops sub rather than the Programming sub.

i'm prety sure it's best to compile it yourself.
things have really improved so you shouldnt have any issue.
