  • Good ANSI Viewer

From Lith@VERT/ASIRTA to All on Sun Nov 1 10:44:23 2015
Anyone know of a good ANSI Viewer where you can view 100's of ANSI files quickly? I used Acid draw, but it can't view some older ANSI files. Also, it crashes sometimes when going through the ANSI files.

Thedraw takes too long to open up and view ANSI files when you want to look at 100s of them. But, it does work with all the ANSI files which I try to view.

Is there another good ANSI viewer/creator besides TheDraw and Acidview where you can view 100s of files at a time?

    Thanks,

    Lith,

Try PabloDraw, it's pretty good for a viewer, but I prefer The Draw for editing.

Back in my DOS days, I loved this little utility called IDCSHELL. It is a menu-drive utility that I used to view ANSI files (among other things). It's
a lot like Midnight Commander for Linux.

You'll have to load ANSI.SYS in your config.sys file, but once you do, you
can just select and then view your ansi's to your hearts content.

If you call Cyberia (cyberia.darktech.org) you'll find IDC40.ZIP in the sysop uploads directory.

There's SyncView which simply displays ANSI, but I assume he wants something with at least next/prev and slideshow capabilities.

I'm not sure if I've actually made builds of it public anywhere though... the source is in CVS!

There used to be this site called puretna.com, they were a porn-torrent site with ratios. Pretty cool! But they disappeared like all the good ones do.

Well, for wares, unless you're doing carrier stuff, torrents are usually the best way to go these days. I don't do warez though, too much good free/open- source stuff available to bother.

i use astraweb for my newsgroups. i dont download binaries from them anymore, but i bought a block of gigs and they made good on the deal and i've been using them for 3 years.

newsgroups have the same shit as torrent sites, but sometimes files get deleted off teh servers and with torrent sites you can get some older stuff that you cant get any other place.

the stuff i download is tv shows and movies.
i'm too lazy to watch the shows when they air and i havent seen a good movie in over 10 years.
