    From Steven VK2STG@432:1/101 to echoirlp@groups.io on Tue Jan 2 00:36:23 2024
Hi all. Another question I'm afraid.

We've had occasional issues with alsamixer settings creating noise on outgoing audio from the node. A reboot has always "cured" the issue.
No one in our club is that well up on Linux, so recently, as a stop gap we configured a cronjob to reboot daily, at 3am when no-ones likely to be using it. That works OK, at least going by a test config with a different time set.
I didn't expect any issues from doing that - well aware that the system 'shouldn't' need a reboot, but it seemed a harmless bodge so as to speak.
Unfortunately, ever since then there's been days when the node appears to be not logging in to the servers - the node doesn't appear in the station list in the app, you can't connect to it, and it doesn't respond to DTMF tones either. It seems that sometimes it just comes good by itself, other times I think the next reboot fixes it.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Steve VK2STG

Depends on implementation. If raspberry PI, it's a USB adapter, but they've been slightly modified. I think you can still buy them on IRLP website. Not sure on a desktop format computer. Most computer shops carry the USB version of sound card.-aa8uu
