So with all the news that's happening in the world lately, I thought it
would be nice to have a place to discuss current events...but not with
the general public. We all know how they are. =)

Maybe we could create a group like tilde.news, or tilde.currentevents?
Could get some conversations going. It would be interesting to see how different or the same our opinions are about topics other than Unix.

It's kinda fun that we have tilde.news (not NNTP group, but an actual website at
URL tilde.news), it's an aggregator but despite the name nobody posts news
there. Also there's no gateway between tilde.news and netnews of tildeverse (so,
this NNTP server). Would be cool if we had tilde.news group that acts as a
gateway between tilde.news website and NNTP. Also would be nice if more people
posted more news, currently only a few people post to tilde.news regularly...
But that's kinda partially my fault, I'm subscribed to tilde.news via RSS, I
read it but never post (so, I'm mostly lurking everywhere as usual).

I'd expect such discussions turn into conflict with the ~verse's CoC in
near to zero time and so prefer to keep them outside of the ~verse.

Not having tilde.politics or similar here looks more like a feature than
    a bug to me.

Idk, I think there's plenty of news that isn't politics that could be discussed...
But maybe I', being naive and any talk eventually becomes politics.

Oof, I actually forgot about that. Who needs the WWW anyway?
