It Began in 1993 with AOL offering Usenet access and it hasn't stopped
since then. Just because I'm more knowledgeable than the average User
doesn't mean much when I'm fairly new to Usenet.

My only other simi substansive brush with Usenet or at least a
usenet-like enviroment, as arguments will be made, was via Google Groups
CR48 'group' as I'd gotten my mitts on one of those pre-release machines
and that was how they fielded discussion. Inexact compared to here but
that's the closest I had to the enviroment here has.

Right now using thunderbird. Considering Claws, but I kinda wanna know
if there's a good tutorial for a dedicated reader client that one of the
tilde servers have, since having the programs on server feels more....
Right? I dunno other than it has a diffrent feel than just using
    thunderbird.

    Anyway. Hi.

You mean a WWW front-end on a server or a classic news client like TIN,
    SLRN, (Emacs-)GNUS, ...?

TB seems to be one of the major GUI news clients out there. Claws may
be a good competitor. I only tried Evolution and it fails at being a
    good news reader.

I don't think that the look and the TUI vs GUI question makes the
distinction between good and not so good news readers. Check out the
    features.

+ Can it access multiple news servers?

+ Can it cancel and supersede (your) posts?

+ Is it usable only online or can downloaded messages be accessed
    without having an internet connection?

There will be lots of points more to ask, but I'm kind of in heat stasis
    right now.

    Maybe dig a bit there?
