    I suspect there must have been some decay... otherwise it would not
    shut down or/and would have found a successor for the ownership if only
    the owner had lost fun in it...

    Generally speaking, free service cannot be stable. Tildes disappear
    all the times. But grex looked immortal. I have a small webpage there.
    Need to relocate.
    This is why I set up my home internet server few years ago. I keep it
    in locked closet. Now I am sitting nearby with my favorite AK-47 and
    I am happy. Having my morning Vodka, 1/2 gallons.

    Sounds like it got complicated because there's a commitee behind the
    running. not a clear way to hand over the keys to a 3rd party. It is a
    shame to see it go.

    Well realistically if a 3rd party were to take over the "committee" is irrelevant since that would be a point that the structure could change. Clearly that structure hasn't worked for many years.
    They maybe would have to agree that it needs to happen. But that is
    about it. Is sad that people would rather see something shut down
    instead of just making the right decision.

    Like tilde.club. ~ford could have just told me to go pound sand.
    But I think he would have rather someone take on the project for someone
    else to give it more of the time he couldn't then just let it sit there
    and die.

    I think for the most part things have went fairly good since Ben and I
    took over tilde.club?

    Got my pubnix start on Grex back in 2008. It went through a period of
    downtime a year later, and I went searching for an alternative which led
    me to SDF (and now Tilde).

    Grex was a good system, and I agree that it'll be sad to see it go.
