• Setting up NNTP server - seeking email signup front-end

    From G.K.@spam@invalid.example to tilde.meta on Sat Jul 23 14:00:58 2022
I am working on setting up a INN2 NNTP server.

I want to restrict it to registered users only.

Users would provide a email address and their login information would be
    sent to the email.

Does anyone know of an open-source front end for this kind of setup?

I already have INN running. I just need to know how to configure it to
require authentication and then a front end to sign up and create the
    accounts for users.

I've struggled with this on Cosmic. Local access for SSH users is great
and easy and works as I want. I also made public read-access work for non-logged-in users. Remote access for system users with username and
password is theoretically possible, but the default authentication
methods aren't set up to use etc/passwd. I went down some rabbit holes
trying to get them to work together but I had no luck.

If you figure it out, let us know. I'd still love to make that happen.
