Here's a gopher front-end for Google driving directions.

It doesn't seem to know about Australia, assuming you're using the
ISO3166-1 country code "AU", I always get "Invalid country
    specified." at the end.

Still, I'm obsessed with plotting my own routes using paper maps,
so personally I probably wouldn't use it anyway. I'm always happy
to see more plain-text internet services available though.

    Australia has roads? ;)

Thanks for the feedback! This should be fixed now. Please try again.

It wanted "au" rather than "AU". I fixed the script to accept either.

Works! Thanks for the quick fix.

Ah right. A while ago I needed a program to try guessing whether
inputs match a known country. The UK was the worst: "united
kingdom", "england", "scotland", "wales", "britain", "great
    britain", "london", "uk", "u k" "u.k.", "uk.", "u.k", "gb", "g b",
    "g.b." ...

Yes "london" as a country name was included based on an input
    encountered before!

They're the crumbly stuff between the pot-holes. :)

That's funny about using london as a country name.

I guess its population is comparable to Austria, Israel, and
    Switzerland.
