1 c Rolled oats
1/2 c Scotch oats
1/2 c Nuts/fruit/seeds *
Generous pinch of salt
MMMMM----------------------SUGAR AND SPICE---------------------------
1/4 c Brown sugar
2 tb Honey
1 tb Vanilla extract
1 tb Molasses
1 ts Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Combine grains and such in mixing bowl.
Combine sugar and spice in modest sized sauce pan.
Turn heat to low and stir constantly until pan contains a glorious
dark sweet liquid. Pour over the oat mixture and stir until all
ingredients are combined. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
and spread out the granola. Bake for 30 minutes checking and stiring
every 10 to 15 minutes. Granola will be sticky when it comes out of
the oven after 30 minutes. Let sit on the counter for 10 min and as
it cools it will become crunchy!
Some dried fruits like raisins don't take the heat as well as others.
While they don't necessarily burn it might be best to add them after
the time in the oven is over.
